No. The Kicker's people went to Texas.

I like the sides at VooDoo... the meats, not so much.

I actually like the dry-rub ribs at Sonny's. AYCE with 2 sides and 2 slices of Texas toast for $13.99 can't be beat.

Pimanyoli's is the best place for BBQ in Baton Rouge. Suckers has better sides that voodoo. Their beans w/pulled pork are money and the homemade mac and cheese is the best in town.

The chicken is outstanding at TJ ribs, they should really look into changing the name to TJ chicken or TJ Wings.

Also I swear people on this board have ownership stakes in suckers, because I have gone 3 times, tried different items each time, and feel that everything i got was bad- below average at best. I would rate suckers as the worst BBQ option on town.

Jay's main items are money but the sides are horrible.

I also think TJ Ribs (namingly the one on Siegen) has great bbq. I agree with the above post that their chicken is terrific and is def smoked along with their pork and brisket. I'm not a bigtime rib guy but the rest is top notch in my opinion.

I agree. Worst sides I've ever had. Actually, I think Jay's is the worst BBQ in BR.

I like pretty much all of the sides at Voodoo -- potato salad, corn pudding, and sweet potato souffle are all legit.

I totally agree. the ribs are really good, hickory smoke and with a very light chew. It'll almost fall off the bone but you use you mouth to bite it off rather that just fall apart by picking it up (sure sign of oven baked or steamed ribs).

The sausage is very good as is the brisket.

I also dig Pimanyoli's for the clear best in BR. Kinda high end for a BBQ place but I've only been to the one on Airline in south BR.

I still love the baby backs at TJ's. It's pretty much the only thing that I think they do really well, but I really think they do them well. And I'm a sucker for the bbq beef sandwich at Jays. I don't really consider Jays a bbq joint, but I love that damn sandwich with some fried okra.
