Dwight plans an impressive presentation for the Sabre store; Andy suffers an embarrassing injury.

They keep making Andy look so inept and stupid. It's a discredit to the show that he's the fricking manager now.
And yes, I realize Michael was inept and stupid at times, but he still had times when he showed why he got the job and was a good businessman. Andy does nothing like that...he's just a stooge and now we're supposed to take him seriously as the regional manager when his own employees don't.

I would actually prefer 30 minutes of Tallahassee and 0 of Scranton right now.

Yeah you right Cocomo. He's a complete doofus at every turn. Just look at a random selection of episode summaries from Wiki per Andy:
It's a fricking joke. To use a played-out yet apt phrase.. they've "gone full retard." You have to give the man some redeeming qualities to keep his character believable and interesting.

I used to love the Nard Dog, and he was incredibly awesome as a secondary character with his "Tuna!!" shite, anger management, trying to fit in and impress Michael/Dwight, etc. Even the whole Angela thing was decent. But ever since the Hangover they've tried to make him a much more central character and it just sucks more times than not. And I wouldn't even mind a little more Andy, but not as the manager. Nothing about his skills or personality would lead you to believe that he was a solid choice for the position.
It's like they did it because Ed Helms was getting more famous. And now he's trying to be Michael Scott and failing at it. I don't know who would've made a good fit (Darryl maybe?), but it's not Andy.

Spot on. He's not fit for a leading role, in TV or film. And especially not in this show where they carved out a perfect niche for his character then tried to fit the square peg into a round hole. Just seems forced. Andy should have kept his Barney Fife role.

Agreed.
Nard Dog was awesome.
Andy Bernard Manager not so much.

That's the thing. I am not sure if we are suppose to take him serious. I have a feeling the way Andy is portrayed is setting us up for something down the road.

Whatever happened to Andy leaking info to the press? That was in the series finale a couple of years ago and they acted like nothing happened.

It really is frustrating and the wrong kind of awkward to see him as manager. I think Spader has been a nice character and Jim/Dwight have been fine without Michael Scott, but Andy has just felt off to me.
As the secondary character he had kind of a quirky confidence that was evident when he always talked about Cornell. That was a much better character than Andy as a manager who is always unsure of himself.
Michael was awkward and idiotic at times, but he always seemed confident and the goofy stuff he did was acceptable because he wasn't so passive like Andy is now.

And though he was ridiculous sometimes, deep down people respected him. We saw him drive into a lake and build a hamster sity, but we also very specifically saw coworkers gain respect for him (Jim several times, Stanley in the "Did I stutter?" episode, David Wallace at Jan's lawsuit, Pam at multiple times, even Toby).

I'll have to watch this again tomorrow. Right now it seems a bit weak.

"Why don't we wait until next year when you have your baby?"

Does anyone else have a hard time looking at Nellie with that wart on her face?
