Looks really silly.
Never saw the TV show with Depp. Doubt it was silly like that.

Ice Cube is a sell out.
He's an uncle tom without E. He's completely forgotten how to keep it real.

Bumping this now that I've seen the commercial a couple times. My initial reaction is that I wish they could have come up with something to call this movie besides "21 Jump Street." Looks more like a loosely-based parody than an adaptation.

No.

Haha you obviously didn't have an older sister. Mine was in love with Richard Grieco.

But then they wouldn't be able to get people in the theaters based off of name alone.

21 Jump St. wasn't a comedy. And these guys look more out of place in a high school than the "kids" from Glee. At least try to fool someone.

Early reviews on Rottentomatoes are surprisingly good.

Tatum Channing will be very believable as a high school student. His superior acting talents will have the audience believing that he is only 17.

The non-fat Jonah Hill will deliver an inspired comedic performance to Channing's expertly played straight man role.

OR

It will be a huge suck fest. This is probably the most likely outcome.

Your avatars have always fooled me into thinking you're in the Kafka or Baloo age range, but you and I must actually be around the same age.

I watched the show almost weekly, then for a while it was on syndication every day when I got home from school in the early 90's. I'm not going to say it was high art, but what they're doing with the show's name just ain't right.

I'm not sure how old Kafka is but Baloo's just a few years older than I. I'm 32, for another couple months.

It hasn't even been released yet.

All movie ratings on RT fall once the opening weekend comes and goes. I expect it to fall hard.

I usually found Channing Tatum funny in the spin off season of Scrubs and Jonah Hill is usually funny, so I'll probably give this one the benefit of the doubt.

Also, some friends of mine from High School play extras in the movie.
