Yea, I know he's had some high profile pictures bomb, but who hasn't?

When I go through his filmography, I see some really solid to great films, even the ones that were supposedly horrible:

The Untouchables
No Way Out
Field of Dreams ( )
Dances With Wolves
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
JFK ( )
Tin Cup
The Postman
For Love of the Game ( )
Thirteen Days
Open Range

Also, although I haven't seen them yet I know some people love Wyatt Earp, Silverado, Bull Durham, The Bodyguard, and Mr. Brooks, among others.

All I'm saying is that the dude has a really solid resume...why do so many people give him so much shite???

I love his movies, but an honest critique is that he's pretty much different shades of the same guy every movie. Hell in Robin Hood he had no English Accent.

Because he's a pretty terrible and stiff actor. I do have to say that he can be decent playing light-hearted roles when less is expected of him and he's a pretty good director so he's not completely useless but the guy has been the star of much better movies than his talent warrants.

He bombs lines. Easy lines. Crucial lines. He somehow manages to not put it out there.

The postman sucked donkey balls but otherwise that is a pretty solid list. How could you leave off Fandango?

Acting wise he's not great but he's definitely managed to stay busy. I guess taking shitty scripts will do that!

Watch Fandango and Bull Durham.

I dont know how good of an actor he is, but he has chosen his roles, with some exceptions, fairly well. I think he pissed some of the Jews who run Hollywood off some time ago and he's been fairly well blackballed for a while. But the Untouchables, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, and Dances with Wolves are enough to make a career out of and he's done even more than that, so... I'd say he's pretty damn good. And yeah, catches too much flak. It became a pop culture thing to talk about how bad of an actor he is. Which didn't help

I know most people didn't care for it, but I actually liked the movie Dragonfly.

And holy shite, there is a Field of Dreams 2?

Anyone famous and successful will be hated by a certain percentage of people. Its just the way it is.

Did he ever get his oil cleaning machine working? You heard about it during the spill and the nothing.
