I think Mayweather would get destroyed in a dust up on a packed dance floor.
I will politely disagree

I'll admit Mayweather wouldn't be chumped by some frat kid on Molly, but 5-7 160 is gonna have some problems with a 6-2 235 guy that is pissed off. Sometimes big is too big.

true but just because a guy is that big doesn't mean he would win if you're talking about just some guy. Mayweather would toy with a normal person trying to throw a punch at him. If the guy somehow got him to the ground than maybe but I still doubt it

Mayweather doesn't realize the reason for the hype and therefore shouldn't have tweeted about it. He's an idiot.

"I don't think he's been that good from the get-go" and "he got credit he didn't deserve" is a compliment?

In re-reading it, you are right.

However, I'm unsure how:
quote:

"Sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go," Limbaugh said. "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."
Is worse than what Mayweather said.

The Jeremy Lin story has alot going for it.

He is Asian
Graduated from Harvard
Undrafted (underdog)
He can play
He plays for the Knicks.

It makes him very unique and in some cases goes against everything some "perceive" the NBA to be.
It's how the media works, you would think Floyd knows this.

There would probably also be a lot of hype if, say, a black golfer came out of Stanford and started winning golf majors. Or if, just hypothetically, two black sisters from Compton dominated the world of tennis.

So when is Whitlock getting fired? You know if he was white he would've been made to apologize and then get fired. (remember the joke Don Imus made?)

Whitlock "sort of" apologized by basically saying he is hilarious and can't help it.

Blacks are getting out of hand in the protection they get vs. whites and asians.

Ridiculous.

Jalen Rose--"whiteboy wasted" ----what if a white newsanchor said something similar. He would not have a job the next day. oh, yeah "nappy headed hoes"

I think he's right to some degree,

He's absolutely not right. If Lin was named Jeremy Washington adn came from Harvard undrafted with the same story, then I'd bet the attention would be just as high.

But, like the writer of the article said, Blacks get their due too. (williams sisters, Tiger Woods)

frickING THIS. Watching the media hope for a good black QB is like watching LSU fans hope for a good white skill player.

It is so bad that saying a black QB isn't good, is now deemed racist.

Unless it's Vick. I guess killing animals removes race-immunity.

Is that how you read my words?

My point is had Lin made a philosophically similar comment regarding Mayweather, it would be a huge deal. . .and Lin would be on his way out of the NBA.

Don't be such a sensitive little bitch at the mere mention of race.

Why is anybody even bringing up Whitlock and asking about his job security? What job is gonna fire him now that hasn't already? ESPN already canned him years ago, as did the KC Star. I don't think foxsports.com is concerned with losing sponsorships over this. His twitter posts are about as relevant as any posts here.

Lin's heritage makes him more interesting because of the novelty. It's not the biggest factor, but it's a factor. Nothing wrong with that. Mayweather's comment is stupid (and predictable) because it insinuates that there's something wrong or unjust with the recognition Lin is getting because of his race. There's nothing wrong with it. Unusual is interesting.
