Been to Commanders a million times and it never gets old to me. I absolutely love it! However, the hubby is wanting to go to NO soon to celebrate my birthday and was wondering if I should try something new, like August.

August or Stella.

August is a very nice looking place and may have the best food in the city.

August does no thing for me

Maybe I caught them on an off-night??

Commanders is my favorite restaurant, anywhere.

Commander's and it isn't even close. August doesn't have half the service of Commander's.

There are a ton of other good places but Commanders is way better than August.

Maybe for service but the food is better at August imo.

And I don't understand why you would want to go to the same place everytime when there are at least 20 places with equal food.

I know a lot of people rave about Stella! but I just don't get it. I only dined there once but it was forgettable for me.

August is the best restaurant in Louisiana.

Commanders is a factory of decent Creole food that hasn't changed in my lifetime.

If money isn't an option, I choose August every time.

CP is good and the service is great.

August is on another level food- wise. Simply stunning.

I know the feeling of wanting to do the sure thing for a celebration, but for your birthday, it might be fun to do something new to start a new year.

Well I go to a restaurant to eat food not to see who has better service. I do like Commander's though.

I've been to August several times and the service has always been excellent.

I think the food is the best in the city.

You know, the service and the food do kind of go together.

Commander's is a fantastic meal at a NO institution. You can never go wrong there. But August is a true food experience, it's delicious art...in my top two dining experiences ever. JIC you were wondering, the other was at Le Bernardin.
