I did a search but the few opinions seemed mixed plus some were dated.

Does the service still suck?
Recommended dishes?
Is it still a crapshoot to be open?

Yes, they are open tonight.

I haven't been there in a while, but the last time I was there I ordered a seafood/noodle hot pot cooked at the table, sort of akin to Yosenabe. I've heard the place has changed hands since then, so please report back on your findings.

I went yesterday and maintain my opinion that it is the best Vietnamese place in town right now. Very clean, great service (they refill your tea and water!) and a good, clean broth. I got a small #25 (pho with everything but meatballs) and it was loaded. I spoke with the new owner "Tony" for a bit. Fairly young guy that seems to get it.

The three family heads were in there so it must be pretty legit.

Thanks for reminding me..I went two nights ago with the GF and we had a great dinner. I got the number37 which sounds a lot like what you got..flavorful broth, huge bowl, and all around delicious. She got something different, some sort of vegetables and chicken in a nest of crispy noodles which was excellent too. Service was great although we were the only people in there which was kind of weird. I will definitely be going back on the reg

I have NEVER been to a viet place for dinner. Mostly because my wife would not dig it. Today was a pho day...but I used my allotment yesterday.
