Staying in Houston for a conference this week. Any good recommendations around the Reliant complex?

Also looking for a solid steakhouse that won't cost an arm and a leg and of course, the best Mexican in town.

TIA

the area around reliant isn't the best, but rice village and the kirby/westheimer area is pretty close to reliant. Hugo's is some of the best mexican, but is a little pricey. Also papacito's is good. Rice village has a some of the best bars, along with good food. Benjy's, kubo's, ruggles are all good.

+1 on Ruggles.
Goode Co. BBQ is also close to Reliant.

Benjy's in rice village is damn good "new american cuisine" and good place for happy hour upstairs. Mexican I would try Lupe tortilla on kirby and 59m get steak fajitas will not disappoint.

Pappasito's is right by you near Reliant. It IS a chain so people will poo-poo it. BUT they make the BEST chicken fajita's I have ever had. And they are always the same.

Sweetwater duck at Goode Company BBQ is one of the better things I have ever eaten. Our entire baseball team (players, players families n coaches) went there like 6 times in 2 weeks

Closest Perrys to you is Memorial City location or Sullivan's in the Galleria area for steaks.

Yes. A litle bit of a drive from where the OP is but worth the trip. We always went there for service anniversaries and retirement dinners.
