Karbach and No Label are both on that level.

Karbach started out slow on Saturday, but the gf and I got there right at noon when they started pouring. You get four tastings, typical, and by 1 it was packed. We left around 1:30 and there were easily 200 people in there, probably closer to 400.

Imagine if these people could open for tastings or sell growler fills every evening, or even just 2-3 more per week. It might thin the crowds out slightly on Saturdays, but in the end they'd sell a lot more beer.

on second thought, since I'm not close enough to participate in that, I'd rather them bottle more

I forget which law or which state was causing issues with beer labeling. Whichever one prevents putting the ABV on the bottles...saying something about how it might influence people to get drunk faster or something like that.

To me that affects craft brewers because they're not allowed to print ABV on the bottles. (they like to provide as much information as possible on their bottles)

Now BL Platinum comes out with 6.0% in freaking BOLD font as if it is their main selling point and they're allowed to do that.

Sorry for the rant.

Bump,

Speaking of Texas breweries.

New Texas brewery announced by Beernews.org

Senior brewmaster from Boston Beer Co. starting Revolver Brewing Co.

quote:

Hood County beer? It’s coming. “People’s interest in craft beer is exploding in Texas,” according to master brewer Grant Wood of Revolver Brewing. Rhett Keisler has established Revolver Brewing LLC — a production brewery — right here in Hood County. Revolver Brewing officials hope to have the facility up and running by July. Revolver won’t be licensed to sell beer to the public — the “full-flavored craft-style beer” will be distributed to retailers. Revolver Brewing LLC is located at 5600 Matlock Road.
