Who's degrading lee? You are a little too sensitive.

I didn't start this thread. I'm not out searching the Interwebs to find artcles about the kid. I just clicked on here to see Dunson insinuate that the writer was sarcastically targeting the kid. I pointed out that the article was also a slam on Miles' ability to judge QB talent. And as usual the JJ fans come in and try to slant the readers to a negative opinion of Lee. In fact, in my 1st post in this thread I didn't mention Lee.

Lee was more efficient than JJ this year. Lee was undefeated as a starter this year. Lee was invited to 2 All-star games this year. Lee was interviewed by 3 NFL teams this year.

Pardon me for thinking he was the better QB

We understand that you are ashamed of having knighted for JJ. But posting graphics doesn't make us feel the same way about Lee.

You do get that, right? We are not embarassed by how Lee conducted himself this year. However, you have this

You replied to me, addressing Roaad but seemingly talking about me as well?

I think the two of us are merely stating that this article is satirical and mocking overzealous Lee supporters... who are now using said article to back their opinions.

It's funny.

I have no idea what roaad could be thinking. Its like the other thread where people were being questioned about still wearing LSU gear after 1/9. Does he think that by pointing out that we thought highly of Lee, that we would quit being supporters?

roaad (et al) really is deeply butthurt about how the whole JJ/JL thing turned out

But nice response on the gif, tho. Keep posting that, and he'll quit with the knight pics

This is the problem. Y'all have delusions of grandeur with respect to Lee. It appears most of you believe he would have been invited to New York if he started all the games this year. I don't think he was nearly as good as most of you do but I think he should have remained the starter. I apologize for being rational.

That is all Ive ever said, "LSU would win the BCS with decent QB play." Lee had 3 ints in 10 games. Thats more than decent. Yet for whatever reason Miles went away from that, and he should be held accountable.

I now wish that Lee is able to prove himself at the next level. A bit of karma, you might say. That is all

I don't think Hobbs meant to do anything other than write a funny article. It's satire, but without trying to pass along any clear message.

My favorite part:
quote:

Wide receiver Russell Shepard was considered to make a grand marshal threesome, but upon further review it turned out he did, in fact, get in three plays against the Tide.
Shepard might argue that he never touched the ball, but apparently Zeus is serious with its high standards.

Funny article.

There have been threads seriously arguing the things he presents as tongue in cheek.

I'd bet those people don't realize he is making fun of them.

No, sir, I was pointing out that the writer was mocking the collective wisdom of armchair QBs who have knighted - to borrow a phrase -- JLee as the savior of the BCNCG.

I appreciate what Lee did this year, but if you cannot recognize his fundamental limitations, then I can's help you.

Hey guy, how about a poor coach with an agenda? You are probably one of those idiots raving about how great Lee looked in the highlights of the ArkLa (or whatever circus of an organization) hosted that "all-star" game. Great for Lee that he got to play. Hats off to him for 4 years of service. But watch the highlights and tell me how simply dropping back 7 steps with no pressure and chucking the ball up down the sideline would have helped us against Bama? Great to wear the blinders of not looking at his performance Nov. 5. Wonder if the "poor" coach saw that.

This is a dumb article. It is somewhat of a satirical lament that Lee would not be put on the float and Jefferson would be there instead. I did not laugh when I read it. I grew up in that area and I mostly liked Hobbs' articles about LSU. This one was a dud.
Lee should have at least gotten a chance to come in, just to give JJ a chance to re-focus. A change of pace was sorely needed. We may not have won the game with Lee in, but we would at least have tried everything we could, pulled out all stops, and left it all out on the field. Not having that chance has left a lingering bad taste in our mouths.

Actually, you could not be further from the truth. Just an avid LSU fan who has seen the highs, the lows and the in betweens (Go Independence Bowl!!), and who resolved to bring truth, justice, some proper perspective and a slice of reality to this Rant. Francis aka RobbBobb, do yourself a favor and lighten up.

Tomball, read the title of the article. The "Lee Legend" growing evermore. People into things like books and reading understand a "legend" as a retelling of facts with the benefit of amplification, i.e. positive spin. See, e.g., The Brothers Grimm definition of legend as folktale historically grounded. Now go back and read the article in that context and tell me who the writer is laughing at.
