This class is a joke. For being the #1 team this year and next, we should have players drooling over LSU. But yet, alot of schools are getting the good players and LSU is getting dissed at the last minute. How many recruits has LSU reeled in since being ranked #1 in Sept? Very few. When we were losing 4 and 5 games, we had better recruits. The championship game and Les' coaching is killing us. Guess the excuses given to me all year when Ive said for months this is a weak class, didnt come true.

these recruits are pretty smart. miles will have to do some coaching to get people to quit talking about him.

What about if we all bought a subscription to their service. Would that get the players that the coaches want liked by these jock sniffers that run the services???

We currently have 10 of the Top 12 (the Dirty Dozen as Tiger Rag calls them) from LA committed. The other 2 are headed to AL and we all know the story there.
Since arriving in BR, Les has always gotten players that perform on the field. QB play the past 3 years has been hit and miss... with a lot of miss... but he's signed a few "star" QBs during that time that have left the program without playing... and Mett, Rivers, and Randal on the current roster.
The class in not a joke... we got 10 of the 12 best players from our home state - reality is we will probably NEVER sing 12 of 12... just won't happen.
We lost a key recruit at QB for reasons beyond Les' control... and unfortunately that led to us losing another highly touted recruit.... chalk that up to some bad luck and bad timing, I suppose... neither had a damn thing to do with the BCSCG... nothing.

First, I don't think that's true... but I guess it depends on what service's rankings you are looing at. The one I saw, LSU had about 3 or 4 in the top 100 or the ESPN 150, I believe.
The irony is that when we've had Top 5 rated classes.... we've had about 4 guys from the ESPN 150 in our class.
Had we gotten Keil to actually stick with his committment we'd have that same number 4 in the ESPN 150, I'm fairly certain.
Next year will be key... if all/many of our draft eligible Jr's leave... we'll have holes to fill... but if they mostly return.... we'll have a group of 3 year starters playing in 2013 and kids we are recruiting this year will not see the field a whole lot... at least not as starters.... so give it time.
I'd be willing to bet now that we have 10+ wins the next two years... and if that's not good enough.... then expectations are truly unrealistic.

What are you even talking about? 'under the bridge' implies that you're an internet troll. I don't think too many hippies were dealing with trolls in the 70's.

Wtf are you talking about. You have no clue how recruiting works if you think our immediate season that was played should help recruiting in the class the same season. You will see the effects of this season a few years down the road once we have a chance to use the success from this season to build relationships. To the OP: for the last time, rivals and ESPN have no local scouts to evaluate our instate kids properly. Scout and 247 do, so their player rankings are most logical. 247 team rankings make no sense so i go with scout on the team rankings, mainly cause they include a full class of 25; the way it should be. We will finish top 10 on scout and have 10 of 12 Dirty Dozen instate. We will survive.
Rivals is now mainstream and are full of hacks.

Not all sites agree with one another. Half the top 100 will never pan out while 100s of the next 300 will. Admittedly our class doesn't have * power and the major guys but we'll be happy in 5 years when these guys are done at LSU imo.

The effects of the game two weeks ago has almost no bearing on this class. Recruiting is built upon relationships over time. We have been recruiting these kids for years. This season and its good will will have benefits later on. Our 2009 class was ranked # 2 in the country, coming off an 8-5 season! That class was built off the good will of the previous seasons and the NC in 07. In 2008, coming off our National title we were ranked 11 in recruiting, our worst year since Miles in year one. By your logic the 8-5 season of 2008 should have had us ranked in the 30s. As long as LSU recruits the top 10 of the state every year we are fine. We average something like 7 a year. Now does losing Collins and the other guy sting, yes. But we also lost the CANT MISS #1 Player in the Country, Joe McKnight to USC. And Boy did that come buy to bite us. Faulking Chicken little's! your life must really suck not to enjoy the best time in the history of LSU Football.

You do understand we've (this recruiting class) addressed specific needs. Our class is solid. Sure, we would have loved to get Edwards, Spence, Collins, etc. - but our depth is substantial at every position.

#7 Scout, #12 247, #15 Rivals, #16 ESPN - hardly weak! We have addressed specific needs in this class and it's a very solid class.
