Rudy's BBQ
Paesano's has the best beef tenderloin dish served with poached potatoes I have ever tasted. San Antone has many great places to eat.

I would stay away from most of the river walk stuff mostley tourist trap stuff but there are exception. Boudro's is legit along with a couple others downtown. I am not a fan of Mi Tierras, there are to many great hole in the wall mexican places and even upscale mexican to eat there, But it does get a ton of business. Most of the new trendy restaurants are on the north side of town in Stone Oak area, they have some really good new places up there but I hardly make it up that way. San Antonio has a lot of 'institutions" not all of them are good but they are all known for something.

San Antonio mexican food is very overrated but Mi Tierra is pretty solid.

There is a hamburger joint, Chunky's I think, that claims to have the world's hottest burger, topped with the fabled ghost chili. Try it and get back to us.

Chunky's burgers are horrible but the 4 horseman burger is legit, have seen a few people try it and not even come close to finishing it.

Dough - Google it. It was recently on Food TV. Best pizza you'll ever eat. Everything is fresh, mozzarella as well ...

Paesanos off 1604

Big'z Burger Joint off 1604 (good burger)

well, i realize that i'm nothing but a dang tourist, but, i've enjoyed Mi Tierras probably over 30 times..I like alot of SA places, but, it's still my favorite.. Take the trolley, go to the market, buy some cheap blankets and vanilla extract, ride trolley back..No DWI's..
I'm a good little tourist...
