“As much as I would have liked to have put Jarrett Lee in because the program owes him a lot, he really did a great job for us in the beginning of the year and really throughout his career, I felt like it would be unfair to him with the pass rush that he would sustain to put him in late in that game and considering that Jefferson, in my opinion, could throw in a like fashion but could avoid the pass rush,” Miles said. “So that was my call.”

Throwing downfield would make them stop stacking the line.

Jarrett is a better passer

And JJ was just sitting the pocket holding the ball...so he was trapped

so legs didn't matter they way the Bama rushed the pass.

if nothing else you try to stir the team up with some change at QB.

Miles just left the team out to die

First time I have ever heard that it wouldnt be fair to give a player the opportunity to seek redemption and win the game for his school and have a chance to be the greatest hero since Billy Cannon.

Yea def not fair to give a player that opportunity.

Contradicts what Miles has been saying all season, and can't take the rest of what he says seriously now.

This is what I've been saying all along. Les actually believes JJ is a good quarterback.

The only part of the statement that is in touch with reality.

Man. At least give the guy a chance. JJ was doing nothing.

Well, the numbers back him up passing wise.

I think he felt JJs mobility gave him an edge against Bama.

He should have realized it was a non-factor and adjusted.

Is Les his Mom?

That's pitiful.

my favorite was after the game with Erin Andrews when she asked what the problem was with offense....

"we couldnt sustain any consistency, the opportunity at first downs were really taken for granted until which time we werent getting em, and, ya know, ya know at which time the calls became much more difficult"

If jj could throw in a like fashion, then why did'nt he. At least air it out a few times to back up the defenders.

And that, my friends, is why Miles has deservedly been questioned by his fanbase, as a coach.
