Since every other jackass on the internet does this, and because I'm a little bored at work and can't think of much else, here's what I think the Saints need to do this weekend:

1) First and foremost: play clean football. No turnovers, No costly penalties, No blown coverages. Make them earn everything they get from us.

2) Take the lead early. If the 49ers have a 2 possession deficit, they will have to throw the ball. They are not built to play that kind of game. If they get up 2 scores on us, they will be hard to come back on...don't let that happen.

3) Pound the rock to close out the game. Sean Payton has made a couple of questionable clock management calls this season. The 9ers do not have a dynamic offense, no need to play keep away so hard with them, BUT don't give them any extra time either! If we have the lead in the 4th, pound that rock and punt if necessary! Once again, they do not have a "come back" type of offense. Our D can hold them.

...Of course they may do the opposite of all of this and blow out the 9ers regardless...In Payton I trust

I feel like those keys work in any football game. No turnovers, get an early lead, and kill the clock with the run.

That being said, I'm really hoping to see it play out this way on Saturday.

One important key is to score the most points.

Yeah I suppose it sounds generic, but I think it would be a bit different if we were playing against the Patriots. For instance I might say we need to be much more aggressive and take advantage of a weak defense, even at the cost of a turn over or two. Instead of run run run with a 4th quarter lead, perhaps we throw a little more since that is our big strength, so that we don't give the ball back to a dynamic offense like the Pats have. Meh...just wrote it for fun anyway

Weather: Clear with a high of 62, winds NNE 5 to 10 mph. ...sounds like Brees should excel in these conditions. Dunno why but the weather is the only thing that concerns me for this game

1. Watch ESPN's analysts proclaim the Saints dont have a chance.

You dont wanna see him when he's angry.

Now that the game is over, let's revisit...

- FAILED - We did almost everything wrong in this regard, except the penalties. That was the sloppiest game since the Vikings NFCCG. Just awful and painful to watch.

FAILED They got up 3 scores and we came back anyway. Never should have gotten to that point.

EPIC FAIL Our D held them in check all game except when it mattered most. The very definition of a choke.

on a scale of pass with flying colors to epic fail, they did the latter on all 3 of those.
