Looking at Bourbon Street live Webcam right now. See quite a few red shirts walking around already.

In New Orleans right now its 90-10, at the game it will be 60-40. Wordwide, most people are butthurt the Gumps got in, so I would say mostly LSU fans.

I remember before the Ohio State game you saw the bourbon street cam and Ohio State bragged how it was filled with their fans days prior to the game. LSU fans don't swarm Bourbon since most live here. I say 60-40 LSU.

Yeah that's cause many LSU fan have the Black and Gold on today and plus Bourbon is for tourists.

Where in NOLA are you? I just walked from my office in One Canal Place to Felipe's on St. Peters and saw nothing but Tide fans. Only a few purple and gold shirts.

i wasn't there, but with OS it seemed more than
50/50. He isn't saying in the past that it was 50/50, but he thinks this game will be. My guess is SEC, Bama location, fan bass, money, plans early on to be there, etc. I still don't think so.

True. It was like that last time. But Sunday night rolling into Monday they will swarm Bourbon in unprecedented amounts.

17,000 tickets to each school
28,500 tickets go to Sugar Bowl season-ticket holders
9,500 to title sponsors, ESPN/ABC and BCS

So what we know is that Bama is guaranteed 17,000 fans in the dome (that is 23% of the dome)

The second possible source of tickets (Sugar Bowl season ticket holders) heavily favors LSU for obvious reasons. Even still, assume that
half of Sugar Bowl season ticket holders are Tiger fans that held onto the tickets (an extremely low estimate) and that the other half of those Sugar Bowl Season ticket holders sold their tickets online to the highest bidder.

Now assume that these sales mirrored the online sales quoted below (and I'm giving Bama all of Florida and Georgia), then Bama would have bought just under 4,000 of those tickets.

("Jennifer Swanson, a spokeswoman for TicketsNow, said 32 percent of its ticket sales have been to Louisiana residents, 15 percent each to Texas and Alabama residents, 8 percent going to Florida and 5 percent to Georgia."
)

Lastly, the Sponsor's tickets. These are difficult to predict. Many of the sponsors are nationwide and Bama has a larger nationwide following. Still, many of the sponsor tickets stay local. Let's call this one 50-50. So that would be 4,750 tickets for Bama from sponsors.

That totals out to 25,750 Bama fans in the Dome, or roughly 36% of the Dome.

If my assumptions are correct, the breakdown in the Dome will be 64-36 in favor of LSU.

Wearing B&G today. Tomorrow I switch to P&G. Just the way it is.

Why would a New Orleans native hang on Bourbon St when there are far better places to go?

Was kind of thinking the same thing although had no way to come up with a good ballpark figure.

BTW I know you can't extrapolate LSU v Bama attendance with a Bourbon Street Web Cam. I was more interested in spotting the Bama tree killer walking around.
