Ohio State gets bowl ban, other penalties

For those of you expecting the hammer to drop...fuggetaboutit (as I've said all along).
Add 1 scholarship and another year of probation to the self-imposed penalties. No bowl ban.
Look for Tressel to get a 5 year show cause.
This is what I'm hearing from people much closer to the situation than I.

No one outside of Ohio State cares about the non-factor that is Ohio State. Sure, it's nice to know you're guaranteed an easy win in the championship game, but there are other teams who can fill that whipping boy role.

I'm hearing 6 scholarships over 3 years, 3 years probation and no bowl ban. Tressel gets hammered with 5 year show cause.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if the sanctions are a bit harsher than that but I expect no bowl ban.

The Meyer hire is overrated. His first title was w/ Zook's players. Props on the 2nd... but will he be able to recruit the kind of athletes he did at Florida to come to ohio State? a once in a generation QB? a special talent like Harvin? spikes.. hernandez.. I dunno my man.

Yea....lying to the NCAA and knowingly playing several ineligible players all year including your starting QB.....no big deal. Let's even let them play in the bowl game.
