Let's say LSU were to lose to Bama in the dome. It was an extremely close game, maybe even a hugely controversial call (ie. PP7's pick in '09)

LSU would have one more win than Bama, a better SOS than Bama, and it would be literally a head to head draw.

When a team has hoisted the crystal ball in the past, has it been because everyone knew they would be #1 in the BCS the next morning, or because they actually won the final game?

Coach's are contractually bound to vote the BCS winner #1.

That is how the crystal football is tied to the BCS.

this scenerio is why Alabama should not be in the game to start with..they lost at home and at best have 1 less victory than LSU on the season!

College football fans rest their case

Bama's only loss is to #1. LSU will have lost to #2. Therefore bama has the better loss.

That's all that matters apparently.

eta: I am in no way saying that LSU should still be #1. Just commenting on the stupidity of the system.
