I've always wanted to, but I suck at woodworking. I've been practicing on some projects and am getting better, but I don't think I have the precision to build a pirogue yet.

Seriously... take a look at those plans I posted. two sheet of marine plywood, and a skill saw. If you can cut a straight line, you can make one of these.

I bet it weights less than 40lbs when its finished.

I helped a grandpa and an uncle build one when I was 11.
I didn't do much but it was a great pirogue. That grandpa introduced me to hunting and fishing- was killed a year later.


Used until I was in college

Had it tied up in the back of me truck one night before going hunting pirogue not there in morning-it was like an old friend had died.....

Bout 4 years later when they cleared an empty lot around the corner - the termite and rodent devoured shell was there-

Found out later that day fella down th street put it there-

Was the worst arse whipping I ever put on someone
