It's Facebook. Permeated by the same kind of people who will sit in a drive thru line for 20 minutes at Chick-fil-A.

It's on the "official" New Orleans Po-Boy Preservation Festival page.

ETA: poboyfest.com as well.

Not only is it on the list but it was the Best of Fest.

No clue. I missed the festival all together this year.

I just think it's really sad that a chain restaurant served up the BEST thing there.

I didn't try their poboy but the food at this place is crap. And I was getting it free because my friend was the manager.

It's not bad for what it is. I don't think they are presenting themselves as fine dining.

What did they serve at the fest?

Why? It is a New Orleans' "chain".
If it's good, it's good.

I don't know, but they don't sell po-boys and I can't imagine anything that they make being all that great as a po-boy.
This isn't a festival in Indiana where they are competing against Subway, Quizno's, and some guy named Frank who was servering sloppy joe mix on a stale hogie.

Dude it's not that difficult to make a poboy

Like most people say it's all about the bread. WOW can go purchase the best bread just like anything else. Then putting whatever to fill the sandwich isn't exactly a culinary feat of epic proportions.

NOLA residents love chains obviously.

If Chili's had a booth with burgers at the festival, they'd sell out. Alcohol is the catalyst for a lot of bad decisions.

Figured now was as good a time as any to get a NOLA > BR debate

So even if a "worthy" poboy maker won, we couldn't take the voters seriously?

Sounds like OP is more upset and confused b/c it happened in nola. If it happened in BR everyone would be calamoring about BR being a bunch of chain lovers. But it happened in nola and it means that the average nola resident isn't much different than the average BR resident.

I'd say that a lot of people have a "it all tastes good" vibe when they're at the po-boy fest - like a lot of other events.
