ULM has to be in the bottom 1 to 3, IMO.

Are the New Mexico schools so piss poor because they simply don't put in the effort to be good? I know New Mexico isn't a hotbed of talent, but New Mexico is surrounded by Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado, and California isn't that far away. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/shrug.gif)

Kind of a side note but Central Florida has some of the worst fan support I've ever seen, luckily they have a great location and recent success.
I agree with Eastern Michigan being number one, although they had their best season in awhile this year

ULM is a pretty bad job in terms of any chance of growth. It should be a pretty big sign that Mark Hudspeth told ULM thanks but no thanks then decided to take over a 3-9 Ragin' Cajuns team.

BCS conference-
Pac 12 - Wazzou or Oregon State.
Both are in the middle of nowhere, have little in the way of a natural talent base, and no history of winning consistently. It doesn't help either that UW has a big history of winning while Oregon has all the Nike money for facilities and visibility.
SEC - Vandy. Full stop. High academic requirements and no history of success are a serious impediment to your career.
Kentucky and Ole Miss aren't much better than this, especially Ole Miss because of how strong LSU, Arky, Alabama, and Auburn are in addition to MS being a poor state for recruiting.
ACC - Duke. The last guy to get this team above .500 was named Spurrier and that was pre-FSU, when the league was a joke.
Big 12 - Iowa State. This would have been Baylor if not for Art Briles performing miracles and the loss of Nebraska and Colorado meaning that Baylor was no longer stuck in the Big 12 South.
Ames is in the middle of nowhere and Iowa State doesn't have a Bill Snyder to pull miracles out of his arse to make them competitive.
Big Ten - Indiana or Minnesota. Neither are talent-rich states or have a history of strong football.
The only way you win at either consistently would be with a gimmicky offense, such as Minny's power running game under Glen Mason or a spread like the one that Northwestern runs.

Youngstown State is not D-1A or FBS they are D-1AA now known as FCS! Should not be on the list.

you can argue Tulane post-Katrina

not to mention they have been successful

Akron has invested money and built some really nice athletic facilities. There's plenty of left over talent in OH, MI, and PA to build a good MAC team.

Not to mention, their mascot is a Penguin. That there makes the job worth it, IMO.

Yep. The big question is how you define worst.
If it means no potential for ever being good, Tulane shouldn't even be in the conversation. If it means a horrible administration that hinders the athletic program, Tulane is definitely a contender.

8. Syracuse
