I'm lucky enough to travel the state, but when ever I'm near Reserve,(La)
I have to stop at Don's Country
store and stock up on his homemade
Smoked Andouille sausage ....

It can't be beat!

Don's Country Store - Reserve

Stop there at least once a month to stock up. In addition to the smoked meats, the fresh sausage and seasoned ground meat is great.

Paul Anthony's Meat Market here in Jackson. Great(Prime) steaks and usually a good selection of seafoods and other specialty items.

I second Bergeron's in Port Allen. I've had dreams about their smoked boudin.

How would you compare his andouille to Jacob's in LaPlace?

I've had both (along with a few others mentioned in this thread)

Don's is better

I know there are some on here who talk about Jacobs and the other Don's (Scott/Carencro)
and I'll admit they are good, but I like Don's in Reserve better

I go to Bergeron's for all my andouille, tasso, stuffed chicken, etc.. I love the Bergeron's seasoning too. It helps that I pass by there pretty much every day!

BTW, for those of you that go there, they make these bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with spinach artichoke dip. They are awesome! I've been getting them for just about every football game and they disappear fast!
