They're running out of big games. They need to elevate the Arkie game to the "Game of the Half Century".

After Arkansas, they'll promote Georgia to "unbeatable" status.

It's simple, ESPN needs drama and a team that is a sure shot number one from here on out leaves no drama.

I haven't listened to them too much today, but did quite a bit after the game. They were still a bit negative overall toward the Tigers, but not as bad as before. I thought Herbie was maybe the most complimentary he had ever been toward the Tigers, and Mark May was okay. Lou Holtz was thankfully ignored when he criticized the refs on Reid's interception, but I think he designs his comments toward entertaining the audience. But Holtz needs to retire after this season. Remember, Desmond Howard & Lee Corso both picked the Tigers to win on Game-Day.

It's that way just about every single post season. And if LSU makes it through all the games undefeated, they'll be talking about "the luck and magic of the mad hatter Les Miles" as though that had anything to do with it.

What does this:

Have to do with this:

ESPN'ers want
LSU to get upset.

Regardless, they just like drama - the #1 team losing makes for a better story..... Plus CBS has the SEC contract, so I'm sure at some level they'd rather the SEC get knocked down a few rungs on the CFB ladder.

The media always wants #1 to get upset; they spend their days building the #1 up so they can gain viewers/readers not if but when the #1 gets beat. It's predictable - they really could not care less who #1 is, unless it's a B1G team. They they shift into another gear of salivating over it, even while they are anticipating a later fall.

Wouldn't say that ... but you can damn well bet we'll be hearing about "10 game winning steak".

But, see --- I see this a lot like LSU in 2005... excepting the huge natural dissaster... UGA's back has been against the wall since week 2.

They will "survive" the SECE in all liklihood and make it to Atlanta.... but like USCe last year, they will be a huge underdog..... unless by some eff'd up twist of fate Arkansas is their opponent.

But head to head with LSU (or Alabama) UGA is a huge underdog.

But, least we be remined of 2001 when "all UT has to do is beat # 'whatever Teen' LSU and they'll play in the National Championship......

Result.... LSU beat UT that night and then went on to win the Sugar Bowl pretty convincingly as I recall.

I'm counting no chickens.... confident LSU is the best team, but respectful of the teams we have yet to play and the "any given Saturday" nature of football in the SEC.

There is so much truth in this point of view. It must be one game at a time, starting with whoever's next.
