How far does the loser of Saturday's game drop in the polls? I know a lot will depend on margin of defeat & which team loses but where should the loser fall to if the game ends up going down to the wire?

I think the loser would fall behind Bama, Okie State, Boise State, Stanford, and Clemson at least.

#4 imo, especially if it's really close... Just don't see either falling behind Boise with SOS and the like.

1. Winner
2. OSU
3. Stanford
4. Loser
5. Boise

If Bama loses, depending on how bad and other top 10 results, is have to say the 2nd highest one loss team, right behind Oregon.

If LSU loses, we should be the highest ranked 1 loss team.

Unless it's a blowout, any one of these teams dropping below Boise would be absurd.

I'll defer to Brad Edwards. He says LSU drops to 4th in a respectable road loss while 'Bama probably falls to 5th due to being at home. Sounds about right IMO.

They will fall farther than they should. Voters who don't want a rematch will vote the loser lower than they should be to try to make it not happen.
