Byrd needs to stop fumbling the ball

I sat through last weeks game against Captain Shreve. The rain in the first half definitely didn't help the offense. It was a fumble-fest. Get a handle on those loose balls and the Jackets could go all the way.

Props to him for having the academics for Cornell.

So does anymore know exactly how the formula works to figure out the seedings? How do they come up with a 12.48 for example? Like on Ken Ramsey.

10 per win
+2 per class played up (2A vs. 4A: 4 points)
+10 x opponent's winning percentage

games your team has played

10 points for each win
2 points each for playing up in class

For opponents wins:

(#wins/games played)*10

Add it all up then divide by the # of games played.

Ken's numbers wont be accurate until next week because he just gives a point for each opponents wins instead of doing the equation above. It doesnt matter if a team plays 10 games but if they only play 8 like O.P. Walker or 9 like Neville then It makes a difference in the # of points that their opponents get for playing them.

this is probably irrelevant to most parts of the state.

avoyelles is going for their first undefeated regular season and a district title against defending district champs @ marksville. avoyelles is bringing in the 25th ranked offense and #1 scoring offense in the state. and two wing backs with over 1,300 yards on the season. huge game game in THE AVOYELLES PARISH friday.

So if team A finishes with a 6-4 record. They play 2 teams one class up (both losses though). And there opponents record for the year is 45-55. What would their power rating be? I am getting 11.7 , but not sure if I correct on this. It does not seem correct. TIA.

60 for wins
4 for playing up
45 for opponents wins (since all opponents played ten games, no figuring out is necessary)

109/10= 10.9

EDIT- in the old system, you could figure out power points per week (you win this week, 10 points, 5 of your opponents won, 5 points). now, it's easier to figure them out per opponent (you beat Lakeshore, 10 points, Lakeshore is 4-5, .444 winning percentage, 4.44 points)

yes, I'm sure. A team that plays Neville gets 10 points not 9 because Neville is undefeated. Points for opponents wins is based off of winning percentage not total wins. If OP walker was undefeated with 8 wins then all the teams on their schedule would also get 10 points.

Always the case, but Roth fricks it up everytime. Rummel could have easily had 2 or 3 state titles this past decade if they would have thrown the damn ball instead of running it. Roth has a hard on for running the ball.

rummel will throw the damn ball this year when they need to... damian williams throws a hell of a spiral, as does the QB from Jesuit.

but rummel might have one title and that was 2006. that was why that sulphur game was so frustrating and one Jay Roth will take to his deathbed.

Nah, not sure they would have beaten Acadiana even if they did make the finals.
