With all due respect to Nick Saban and his defensive pedigree, they have feasted on some atrocious offenses.

Bama has faced 3 of the worst 10 offenses in the NCAA in Vandy (111th), Mississippi (116th), and Kent State who is dead last at 120.

The best offense Bama has faced is Ark (22). The next best offense is Miss St at 75.

I am not saying the Bama D is not good, because they are. It is comical, however, to hear fans of Alabama trotting out total defense rankings. I am not an LSU fan and even I get a chuckle out of their false bravado. I'm pretty sure it's more whistling past the graveyard, and less that they actually buy into these skewed rankings.

According to the Ohio state and pac 10 and 12 boards, all of College football is down this year and that's why two mediocre team like LSU and Bama can rise up and look as good as we have.

PAc 10 says 2004 USC can destroy these two teams with ease.

Big 12 says Texas 2005 can destroy these two teams with ease.

Big 10 swears by Tressel and his BCS teams..

All of college football is down hence why everyone seems weak compare to Bama.

I am on the record stating repeatedly that we're about to beat the brakes off of bama. This will be a curb stomping.

They have held all the teams they played to under their season average.

TEAM - Yards per Game - Yards allowed
Kent State 180-90
Penn State 375-251
North Texas 313-169
Arkansas 462-226
Florida 353-222
Vanderbilt 300-190
Ole Miss 268-141
Tennessee 350-155

Total:
Yards per game: 2601
Yards Allowed: 1444

Dammit. I wish they could just play the game tomorrow so we wouldn't see threads like this anymore.

Fortunately for Bama, LSU ranks well below both of those teams

LOL......um, no. Their defense is good.

i mean we've faced back up QBs the last 3 games....Bama fans could make their own argument that WE are paper tigers on D.

Neither argument is valid. Both teams have bad arse defenses. Period.

I wish everyone would stop trying to talk themselves into believing that Alabama isn't as good as they've looked. They are. But we're bad arse too.

Just man up and beat them. In fact, we should be talking about how great a team Bama has because it makes us look that much more impressive when we win.

Neaux, and what a dumbass question it is.

Give the devil his due.
A Saban Defense (given adequate resources) is going to be very good. Alabama has far far more than "adequate" resources.

Yes Bama's defense lacks talent. The have no future draft picks on their defense. They just aren't very good.

Thier defense was top 5 in the nation statistically last year too, but that didnt mean shite when LSUs juggernaut offense put 24 on them.

Bama hasn't played Mississippi State. Did you mean Ole Miss?

I have do disagree with you there. There is no doubt whatsoever that they actually buy into these rankings.
