We already know that.

Your Tigers will be in the same general camp as UK and maybe UT, until UT gets its act together again, just slightly ahead of Vandy. Get used to it. It would only be worse for you in the West.
SEC East would be an easier schedule than the Big 12 round robin.

They would be dead last in the west most years, and in the east they at least have a shot at beating UK.

Where did he say it was ripe for the picking by Mizzou? He said the east is currently easier than the current B12 round robin with which includes OU, Okie St, aTm, and Texas. That's hardly an unreasonable statement.

It won't be that way for long.

Right, which is why he said "at least this year". He also said this:
Which doesn't exactly imply that the East will be ripe for the picking for Mizzou.

Here's reality:
SEC WEST > SEC EAST > Big XII Round Robin
or, if you prefer...
Big XII Round Robin < SEC EAST < SEC WEST

Big 12 current BCS rankings
Okie St #4
KSU #8
OU #9
aTm #16
Texas Tech #20
Texas #24
Is that currently easier than the SEC east?

When you consider those teams are ranked the way they are because of their schedule (which is each other)...maybe.

Will they make more money, yes. Will they ever win the SEC West? No. They were in a positon in the Big 12 North where they stood a good chance of getting to the title game every year, and anything can happen in one game (right Tennessee? Ha ha, you suck UT).
They will immediately get lost in the middle with MSU, Ole Miss, Kentucky, etc. Hope they enjoy Music City bowls.
Exactly. They'll be a middle pack team. As of right now they can't compete with the Big 12 top teams, now they want the SEC. Good luck. They'd be better in the Big 12 and hope the Big 12 go back to divisions.

What were Arkansas, South Carolina, etc. a few years ago? They're now in competition for division titles. Missouri is capable of doing the same eventually.
True they act like Mizzou can't even beat ONE SEC team.

The lack of knowledge and respect on this board for Missouri (and especially Tennessee) is comical. Missouri absolutely smoked a really solid Arkansas team (McFadden, F Jones, Hillis) in the Cotton Bowl and has fared well against SEC teams in the last 40 years.
Tennessee has been a Top 10 program practically the entire history of the SEC despite a weak 4 or 5 year run.
There's no way any of the posters on this board making such ridiculous comments are over the age of 21.

As a Mizzou fan I will say the SEC brings a lot for us.
1)It adds prominence and may help us at keeping some in state talent that ordinarily might leave for other conferences.
2)It offers a place of stability where we have a chance to grow our brand among the best fans in the country.
3)We get away from Texas!
I'm not going to come here pounding my chest and say Missouri is going to be great in the SEC. But I will say if they continue to build like they have been they can possibly get to a point where they can possibly compete at a higher level.
As the new kids on the block I don't ask for you to give them respect because respect is earned not given. I will let the on-field games prove whether MU can compete or not. I'm just ready for the nightmare known as the Big 12 to be over and to start forming new relationships with the Universities of the SEC which is hopefully our new home.

True, last year they beat SEC newcomer aTm. I believe they are 3-3 against them in the past 6yrs. Mizzou most likely won't compete with Bama, LSU, Florida(when good), but they'll compete with teams 3-8. Hell they even beat OU last year when OU was number one, gave OU a challenge this year during their down year.

I don't mean to sound ornery and I hate being in the position of defending UcheaT but the lack of perspective on their program and the the complete dismissal of Missouri as a Vandy level program is getting beyond annoying.

If Arkansas & South Carolina can win their divisons so can Mizzou. I believe the are in a better postion then when the other two joined.

My friend, had Mizzou beaten Oklahoma once in 2007 then they would have been playing in the BCS Championship Game, not LSU.

quote:Yeah, that kind of makes my point. How often will they get that chance in the SEC? Hell, they have been to 2 title games in 4 years. Now without Colorado or Nebraska the door is wide open for them once the Big 12 gets their shite back together to dominate the Big 12 north.

Hell, LSU has only been to four SEC championships. It isn't that easy even for a program like LSU.
And I do't think any of you all got my UT joke. Yall seem to think I'm referring to UT now but if you read my post I clearly am not.
