Anyone else get kicked out of Neyland?

I attended the game saturday with a group of 10 middle aged Tiger fans. Before Kickoff security came to us and told them all they had to leave. They would not give an explanation and got other guards and made everyone except myself and one other fan(we were sitting in front of them) leave. they escorted them all the way out the stadium. Almost as soon as they left tennesse fans took there seats. these were good seats with folding chair backs. We texted back and fourth and they told us to stay in the game.
Around half time I went to the bathroom and on my way back I was stopped by a guard and he told me to come with him. I had booze in my drink but I mixed it in a stall and no one saw me. I asked repeatedly why I had to go and all I got was "would you rather go to jail?" So being alone, away from my group, I just left. The one remaining person with us said someone took my seat and he didnt get kicked out.
After talking to a few other people that went to the game I heard similar first hand experiences. I only knew 4 groups of peoplethat went, including my own, and 3 of them had similar stories.
Were we the only ones?

Guy in front of me did. He was smoking though but we didn't see anyone get up and rat him out.

Yep, his buddies left with him and 4 douchebag UT fans walked up right after and took the seats.

Sounds like my experience in Gainesville.

I can only speak for myself and my group. No problems here.

Maybe it didn't pass the smell test? If I were to talk to the security team, I'm thinking that their version of events wouldn't match your's.

Didn't witness any problems, and after kickoff we upgraded our seats about 20 rows due to the lack of Vol fans.

think what you want. All the UT fans around me were openly pooring and passing and were hammered. security didnt give them a second look.

Unfortunately when you go to an opposing stadium you won't get the benefit of the doubt, so act accordingly.

My goal here is not to give you shite, it's basically to remind you (I'm sure you're already aware of what I'm about to say) that life is not fair and that police and judges don't really accept the "But Everybody Else Was Doing It" defense. Fact of life, bro.

Someone behind me got kicked out for smoking. When he left he got a ticket for free from someone that tried to sell it and got back in for free. He was an LSU fan.

We sat near the student section - something happened near the end of the game, but I couldn't see. No one got kicked out that I could tell. I did see 2 Tenn fans getting arrested outside of the stadium right after the game. Seemed pretty peaceful to me. All of the fans we sat next to were joking about how bad they suck. One guy asked me how many times we scored when he got back from the bathroom.

I'm sure after said people got kicked out they promptly found some extra tickets to re-enter...probably close to free. I can't tell you how many people I passed who were trying to sell fistfuls of tickets.

In 2006 some cops tried to keep me from getting in the stadium because he said I was too intoxicated. He said they didn't allow drunk people in Neyland Stadium. I had been tailgating, but I wasn't falling over or making an arse out of myself. I was walking to the stadium with a large group and a few of them were a little overboard. I ended up sneaking away and heading in another entrance.

and what would you have done to the guards had you had a posse?

I had no issues with anyone in Knoxville...police, fans, everyone. etc. overall, great experience

Why go all the way to to TN and risk getting booted from the game for a lousy drink?

I didnt mean that I was going to resist. I meant that I wasnt going to keep asking why and get arrested with no one knowing where I am.
as I said in my OP, I was with a group of middle aged people not drunk wild students.
