re: Huge fight at parkview baker game

Baker had the ball at the 5, they throw a short pass which the Baker player fumbled the ball which rolled out the back of the endzone, which was close whether or not the Baker player crossed the goalline first. It was ruled a touchback. The first 15 yarder was thrown on a Baker player (#50) then the 2nd 15 yarder was thrown on the Baker coach, that put the ball at midfield with PBS 1st and 10. Baker's defensive line was jumping up and down getting fired up before PBS ran thier first play of that drive. Baker was still irate about the call. As the earlier poster said about Bozeman and the 15 yard run and Bozeman running over a Baker player as he was tackled out of bounds, the story is correct.

Sounds like Baker was just pissed they were getting rolled on.

Baker was quite unhappy that a TD was apparently taken away from them. It was a close call, but not one to throw punches about. It will come out soon on how the schools/LHSAA will discipline those involved.

Baker seems like a classy school!

Baker is a shite community that is just an extension of north baton rouge mentality. Not a shocker.

Baker sucks. I was at the game and have no dog in this fight, but they are a bad team that got butthurt when the touchdown was called back. Parkview did nothing to instigate from my vantage point. The two point conversion they converted on their third touchdown was preceded by a Baker unsportsmanlike penalty
I do think Baker scored, but it was a bang-bang play that is a judgment call for the refs. Even then, they would've been down 22-6 and couldn't stop Parkview's running game. The players and team were really fired up coming into the 2nd half and were playing well. Having that TD taken away killed their spirits and showed what horrible character the players and coaches had. The Baker players were joking and celebrating after the fight like they won the fricking Superbowl.

Again I was right there.
All PBS did was defend themselves and showed a lot of restraint on top of that
Oh. Are you a ref? Player? Tell us what went down in the trenches during the first three quarters

The racists have really shown themselves in this thread. But they always do. You, my racist bigots, are a HUGE part of the problems in this country.
You all do know that whites teams fight each other too, don't you?

Things like this don't happen out of the blue. If what is posted is true, PBS must have provoked it somehow.
you are on a roll
protesters can't provoke a cop, but this obviously involves provocation without evidence

on the last play - bozeman - was going out of bounds and was hit clean by a baker player - then.. another baker player came in with a late cheap shot...
then another game in pushing and shoving then then another... then one threw a punch...
the original player for baker that made the tackle - got up and tried walking away but saw what his team mates were doing - and tried pulling them back to no avail - that kid left the fight and should be commended.. the rest of them it was nothing more than a brawl they clearly wanted...
was it a bad call - maybe/maybe not... but... the first kid that got the personal foul after the fumble should not have been in the game - on the FIRST play after.. if not ejected... I would have ejected him... and I called well over 250 games and can count on one hand the number of players I ejected...
at least one or two baker coaches are very likely to be reprimanded... but just like the original baker player that walked away from the melee two baker caoches did try to quell it...
as for PBS.. again - I did not see anyone from PBS do anything but defend themselves or defend people around them... and the whole situation happened directly in front of me... the only thing I don't know is what was said between the officials and Baker after the play... and between the players on the field - the latter which really doesn't matter -
and before you sit here and say PBS provoked it - you are wrong - and if you are saying PBS was getting all the calls - you don't see many PBS games...
NOT everyone from Baker was/is guilty - but about 4-5 people players and coaches let it get out of hand by their instigation and actions - 2-3 of whom should have been ejected before it even reached that point.
now as for what happened in the parking lot - after - well... I didn't actually see that - so.. I won't comment on that... unlike other folks who comment about things they did not see...
lots of lessons in this one for officials, coaches, school administrators and police in these situations....
to make it a racial issue is just plain wrong, on so many levels - because the worst two brawls in LHSAA football I am aware of including one that had tear gas... were with all white schools...
If I am the Baker coach - I have several players OUT of the game on at least the first couple of plays after fumble..
If I am head ref - i have at least one baker player and coach - GONE.. after fumble..
IF I am PBS coach - don't know if or what he could have done differently... other than wait longer before running -play after fumble....
don't know if many schools would have show the restraint PBS did in responding.
cell phone videos.. more than likely didn't start recording till it was full blown and mostly just trying to stop it... both schools game film should have all they need..
then another game in pushing and shoving then then another... then one threw a punch...

You are almost there. I stated that to make exactly the point that i was arguing in the other thread. When I used the words PBS provoked, did you see all the people come out of the woodwork to rescue them, even though we don't know much? Come on, you are better than that.

institutional racism is all but dead in america
if baker were some white trash school (let's say from the LP) with the same values, they'd be getting railed just the same
