are LSU fans really that dumb?

800 Facebook fans and counting.

CBS's nationally exposed games brings million dollars of revenue for the school paid directly to the university, and millions of dollars of PR for the school. quit being idiots because you want the tradition of getting drunk all day. new traditions start all the time. this one is LSU is LSU is #1 and people want to see them.

I, for once, 100% agree with you. But LSU fans aren't known for being the brightest. Its a definite positive that they want us on at that time.

Why are you against people's opinions being heard? Of course it's not going to change anything, but people can still voice their opinions to the powers that be.

its not like the only 2 options are day game on cbs or no tv at all.

espn is running 2 games at night, and on espn 2, and on abc.

the tradition is not getting drunk all day, the tradition is night games.

This.

I see both sides of the argument though.

It amazes me that LSU fans bitched for years they weren't on the big boy stage with enough national televised games, now probably the same fans bitch b/c basically we are getting too much pub. The one thing the geniuses in our fan base fail to realize that the 2:30 CBS game is shown from Coast to Coast vs the regional broadcast games minus a few year a year that ABC shows.

And there are no other SEC games played at 2:30 except for the one on CBS that is broadcast nationally. It's the premier time slot because it's the exclusive time slot.

If they choose someone like Bama over us, fans will say that we're getting disrespected.

Did you take a look at the ratings for the Florida/Alabama game played at night? Dominated the ratings! The revenue is given to the conference not the school as TV rights are negotiated as a package deal and the money is distributed by the conference to the schools. Whether the game is played during the day or the night (where networks like CBS get most of their advertising dollars) does not make the school any more or any less revenue.

Partly because of the exclusivity of that game as well. When CBS has their annual night game, it's the only SEC game at that time.

i dont know about this. i am more likely to be able to watch the 7pm ABC game than a mid day game, simply because i have shite to do.

prime time always seems like the better time slot to me.
