None of these computer polls are really objective because they're based on subjective rankings.

I could come up with one to show U-La-La is the top ranked team. In fact, I think one already did.

I think it's great if Bama is ranked #1 before we play them...not that the guys need any more incentive.

b/c it is based on who the teams that you play, play. so texas has played opponents who have played opponents with good records. the flaw with the computers is they look more at records than how good the teams really are.

BCS Guru has LSU no. 3.

It seems very odd that OU is getting ranked higher in the computers. Provided we beat Bama and win out, this will take care of itself. But right now the BCS rankings have shades of the weirdness of 2003.

Check this quote from Anderson:

quote:

Aside from the Sooners, Alabama has accomplished the most through the first 6 weeks, followed by LSU, Oklahoma St., Boise St., Michigan, Clemson, Illinois, Kansas St., and Georgia Tech

Not sure how he arrives at that conclusion.

Click here or look at the -BCS- column to see the ranking used by the BCS, which does not consider margin of victory or preseason bias.

It's written right on there. LSU is #5.
