Anyone else notice that he's playing poorly?

Is he injured?

its because he isn't trying as hard because Jefferson is back right?

Can you tell us what he has done wrong for you to come to this conclusion?

What did he do? or not do? What blocks did he miss? Were the blocks he missed his assignments? Did he not pull fast enough on runs?

What's the problem here? What have you seen?

No shite. Typically when you don't call an OL's name, GREAT!

THIS.

I suspect if we were to provide the coach's film to the OP and gave him 24 hrs alone....he would have NO POSSIBILITY of grading Blackwell's performance.

Would not even come close.

OK, flame on here. I did not play OL in HS or College nor have I ever coached OL. I go back and watch each game on tape at least twice. I always watch the OL and DL. I know CSB.

Blackwell has been struggling IMO; I have also been wondering if he was hurt. He has been slow pulling and has missed what appeared to be his men. When it's hat on hat time, he is not getting a surge or is often pushed back. He has gotten pushed back (created a collapsed pocket in the passing game). He has also not done a good job getting to the 2nd level. Rewatching the Cotton Bowl after rewatching UO, WV and UK. I believe he was playing much better at the end of last year.

I think the C and Tackles have outplayed the Guards every game. I think Williford has outplayed Hebert and Blackwell so far this year. I have been rewatching every game on tape for 20+ years. Although I cannot be certain on his assignment on every play, it is usually pretty easy to tell. Yes, I know I'm an idiot blah, blah, blah.

This study is also why I believe that Faneca is the best LSU player in the past thirty years. He dominated on the 1st and 2nd level better than Chris Samuels.

Thanks for the opinion.

Most of the time, posters just come out and say things that are unwarranted just to start a topic.

Haven't you noticed that LSU is the #1/#2 team in the country and people do nothing but TRY to find things to complain about?

...Eric Andolsek was.....albeit a small margin, but he made a bigger impact on the game. Alan vs. Chris is at best a push IMHO. Chris is considered the best SEC olineman since Hog Hannah......and it is a valid assertion.

I won't beat you up for attempting to grade Will while admitting a lack of position understanding. There are times when it doesn't take an authority to see poor play.

I haven't focused on Will lately, so you may be right. BTW, T-Bob > Josh........don't believe the anti-Hebert hype.

Blackwell looks fine to me

Williford has looked beastly when I focus on him, is that correct? Or am I just seeing the good plays?

This ... inconsistent in the KY game ... wonder how he graded out ... Coaches will cath this!!!

Not to mention the penalties and him getting pulled out of the last game

A bunch of parrots spouting shite from 2009 when he was struggling a bit.
He was knockdown leader before injury.

Just getting back to this thread. A whole lot of overreaction going on in here.

I've noticed Blackwell getting blown up on multiple occasions this year. Against Kentucky, he was beaten 3 different times that I noticed in the first quarter. On one play on the goal line, he was very slow pulling on a counter play... noticeably slow. He really looks like he is struggling, and I was wondering if anyone knew of an injury.

not being too negative, but have you noticed the number of no gain/ 1-2 yard running plays we've had lately?

Our rbs are clearly pretty good, don't think that's the problem. the type of offense we run would suggest that we'd use a couple of big, physical guards to create a push, and t-bob and will simply aren't.

i was at the game last saturday, when we couldn't run AT ALL the first quarter and a half. several times watching the replay in the stadium i saw a RB getting tackled at the LOS with #60 standing there about 3 yards infront of the play not blocking anyone. seems he misses blocks and has been struggling on the move. our 2 guards can definitely improve, which would be nice to see considering we like to pound it up the middle.
