That was good enough for the top stop on the box office lists. Surely, you can find the Lion King DVD for like $10. Is 3D really that much of a draw for people?

3D and seeing it on the big screen.

The Lion King is amazing on the big screen with theater quality audio.

the stupidity of people is amazing to me.

It was a fun experience for a lot of people when they initially saw it in theaters. Those people probably want to share that experience with their kids. It's a great movie. I don't think people went just because of the 3D.

i would imagine it was a great opportunity to bring your kids to see one of the greatest kid movies ever made.

a lot of people were probably kids when the movie came out and now can bring their own children to it. pretty awesome move by disney if you ask me

I was 13 when it came out in '94 and if I had kids I'd probably take them to something like this since it seems everything else that comes out anymore is just absolute crap compared to that run of movies Disney had during the late 80s/early 90s.

I know I've considered taking my cousin's kiddo to see it. He eats that shite up.

I actually believe The Lion King is in the "Disney Vault", so it actually isn't available on Blu Ray/DVD.

Saw it.

Would pay to see it again.

Worth every penny. I was very impressed with the 3D. Much better than the use of 3D in movies such as Avatar

If it were playing here, I'd certainly see it. Seeing the Stampede scene in 3D would likely be pretty fricking amazing. Plus it was my third theater going experience, so it would be heavily nostalgic to watch it again on the big screen.

Movie studios, particularly in mid January-early March, should certainly re-release some of the classics back on the big screen. Its extremely cheap to do and people will go and see them.

TLK was te first movie my mom took me to see in theaters as a child. I also keep the soundtrack in pretty heavy rotation. It is one of my favorite movies of all time. Of course I went to see it.

I must add to this soon.

I already had to walk over to Subway this weekend just to buy a kid's meal for the Lion King bag it comes with.

And oh man, I already know I'm going to cry...not even at the Mufasa death, it just brings tears to my eyes from sheer nostalgia and awesomeness at random parts like the Circle of Life opener. Even while watching a movie at home over the summer, preview for TLK 3D comes on, mom says "Don't cry, Devery"

Did anyone else stay after the credits and see Samuel L. Jackson try to recruit Simba into the Avengers?

Dude, my four year old discovered Lion King when we visit my mom and dad in an old VHS tape that my mom had. She watched it so many times, over and over, that she completely memorized the movie.

Now, for the last two months, every single time the Lion King commercial came on if we were in a different room, she started yelling at the top of her lungs, "September 16th, September 16th". So, I had no choice but to pony up the $30 for tickets and $20 for popcorn and cokes to go see a movie I have already seen 52 times.

I wanted to take kids last week but man, that's expensive for a lot of kids with friends. No way. Going with the old school DVD.

I would love to go see it, just haven't had time. I was 1 when it came out, so this would be my first time to see it in theaters. So I definitely think it'd be worth it to see one of my favorite kids movies in theaters for the first time.
