I was just about to start a thread about this. Ford has to be the only player in the country to not have a single thing on his hands and arms. No gloves, tape, arms bands etc. Very old school

The team has a name for him, but it's not worth sharing. If you know it, you know I'm right.

Can't be. We were told elsewhere by good authorities that no football player would ever want a nickname that implies "sweet" and that to do so would be less manly.

#42 Michael Ford • RB
Calls himself a junk food junkie who eats sugary, chewy candies or cookies-and-cream ice cream just about
every day ... He can bench press 440 pounds and squat 583 ... Nickname “Shug” that his grandmother gave
him stuck through high school ... Reads the Bible and attends church when he can ... The broadcasting major
also has practiced public speaking at his old high school, where he told students that striving for good grades
creates a work ethic that trickles down to other aspects of life, including sports ... Appeared on the cover of
Sports Illustrated following the Tigers’ season-opening win against Oregon.
