How many people will admit?

That they have a better feeling that this team can win it all. From say 2 months ago. Even someone who doesn't know anything about football, has to be pleased with the start. I think that Oregon will run the table and there are only a few teams that can stay on the field with them. Yes, we played a gimme Sat. night. But with playing Miss. St. Thursday night, it was like a good scrimmage to work on polishing up some stuff. This is not a hate on anybody but with Mett getting an entire half. The Tigers have a little bit bigger comfort zone. Besides a head start on next season. If the ball keeps bouncing in the Tigers favor. This could be another great season.

that's me.... I had no confidence in jj and wasn't sure what the d would look like. D, biggest fastest defense i've seen take a college football field and lee only has to manage and not make the big mistake. Solid, solid team.

Me. I thought that our lines were suspect and that we'd lose something from losing PP7. I'm happy to say that I was wrong.

Ever since moffitt said it was his strongest team ever and chavis said it was his fastest defense I knew we had a real chance for a speCial year

Let's play a couple more games. LSU has only played Oregon and an FCS directional school.

I feel more confident in the team after the Oregon win and seeing them perform against NSU.
But I was never on the JJ bandwagon to begin with.

I certainly feel better about the team. If they dominate MSU this Thursday, then I will think they are a title contender.

I had the same feelings but I have been very impressed with the defensive play.

I don't put a lot of stock into what the coaches say in the offseason, but I was confident before Shady's we would have at least 10 wins. Afterwards I kind of had no clue what to expect. Feeling better now. Even if Lee messes up or gets hurt I think Mett can do well. I still think next year is our best shot.

Sounds like Matt Mauck and the 2003 team

Mauck threw for 2,800 yds and 28 TD's. Not just a game manager.

Check his numbers against OU, Western Ill, UGA 1 and Florida. When we had teams on the run Mauck made hay. Against tough teams he was adequate at best.

against tough teams, he managed games poorly. he'd usually shite the bed and need to make plays late to overcome his mistakes. Mauck was much more playmaker and less mistake-free than ppl gave him credit for. as long as he came thru in the clutch more often than not, I could live with that though

Loved what I saw vs Oregon. I thought against Northwestern state the defense, while dominating was kinda flat. I think this team could be prone to an upset or two by an Ole Miss or Arkansas. I think they will do fine vs Bama, Florida.
But I think we will know more this thursday.

Another way to look at it and I think you are right. No way OU should have been in the game with us for the NCG. Totally agree.

So far...Jaspers leg and PP7 's returns are what are being missed the most.
