Personally, having only gone to a few REAL games, it had to be last year during the West Va. game when Pat P did the heisman in the endzone. I was in the student section and they all went INSANE.

I don't know about a moment....but totally agree that the loudest game was USC 79....

And not even close. I bet if you put a decibel meter to LeRoid Jones' TD in the first half it would rank right up there with any single moment in my lifetime.

But for sustained noise no other night is close in my days.

Top 3, all too close to call

1: Florida in 07 when they announced USC loss
2: Auburn in 07 when Byrd makes The Catch
3: Florida in 07 when Hester scores in the 4th

The loudest was when Jones hit Davis in the corner of the endzone in 71 against Ole Miss. The game was tied with the extra point winning the game. Stayed so loud thru the extra point conversion. It was just a steady roar at 130 decibels.

UGA 2003. Five rows up in the N. Endzone right where skyler caught it. It was unreal. Yes, I was there for the earthquake game. That was loud. 2003 was ridiculous.

Most of these kids on here though have no idea about that it was well before their time. Tiger Stadium has changed over the years....it is still very loud...but not as much as it used to be. Commercialization no doubt...can't imagine what it would be like with old school stadium atmosphere and the current winning status of LSU.

100% accurate statement.

79 vs USC
82 vs Florida State
88 vs Auburn
97 vs Florida

2003 vs Georgia when Skyler catches the go ahead TD over the shoulder was probably the loudest day moment.

[I don't understand how people can say the earthquake game. Tiger Stadium holds tens of thousands more people now than it did then. You can not convince me that some of these moments in the 2000's, like Georgia 03, Auburn 05/07, and Bama 08 were not "louder moments". Everyone in the stadium was on their feet yelling at the top of their lungs. Are you saying that the type of fan in the old days was just louder when they screamed? Makes no sense.]

I was at all the games you listed and let me tell you the earthquake game was the loudest, but it wasn't because of the people screaming, it was due to everyone stomping on the aluminum benchs that made it loud and shake.

2000 Alabama. LSU 30 Bama 28. First home win against Bama since '69. I was so nervous waiting on those refs!!!

I was only 10, but I remember that game like it was yesterday.

ETA (this was during the MSU game a few weeks before, not the Bama game) I also remember them announcing that the Yankee's had won the world series during the game and the entire stadium booing. I was brainwashed a Yankees fan from birth and didn't get why everyone was booing. My grandfather had to explain why we were the minority in louisiana when it comes to MLB

LSU football 2000 was a crazy year, one of my fondest memories as a child.

2002 BAMA was also one of my worst memories...sitting in the SEZ against a STRONG north wing. It was FREEZING, to top it off we lose 31-0. I was sick for a week after that game.
