Unfortunately, this weekend in Dallas was the worst I have seen our fans act toward opposing teams' fans in the 30+ years I have been going to games. It was embarrassing. I typically am of the opinion that we have a few bad apples like everyone else. However, during the game and afterward, I saw several incidents where folks showed their asses and none of them were drunk college kids. For example, sitting in section 109, I witnessed two grown men (not together) heckle 3 oregon couples mercilessly throughout the game, throwing f bombs, etc. directed at these folks who never responded.
Walking outside after the game, a woman (about 30 years old) walking with a guy 10 feet in front of me walked through group of oregon fans packing their car in lot 4 and started cursing them for no apparent reason. Because she stopped in the middle of the group, one of the guys told her to get the hell on and promptly received a purse to the head (I have to admit I was actually impressed with how quickly she got the purse to his head and the thud) followed by swinging and threats to fight both the men and women. Next,
a somewhat elderly Oregon couple walked by while I was talking with some friends at their tailgate when an LSU woman told her to go the frick back to Oregon. The 50+ year old woman responded with a beat down look, "come on, you just destroyed us. That's not necessary" to which the LSU woman muttered something I couldn't hear. I saw some other folks who appeared to be college-aged get in oregon fans' faces too, but I see that going on with other team's fans at road games so I'll pass commenting. In any event, these other folks were well-dressed normal looking adults that were being dicks. I could give a shite less about the fan base perception by other teams' fans, but I've seen folks on here call bullshite on a lot of stories, so I figured i'd tell you what I saw on a day when I was sober.

I was chanting Pac 12 sucks balls a good bit on the walk back to the car, does that count?
I could type a novel about the shite I saw or caught from pussified duck fans but you'd just cry

so what? I told some Oregon fan's "Geaux Tigers" and smiled before the game and they scolded me and yelled "frick you"
But I'm not going to cry because I'm not a bitch.

Requiring an LSU diploma in order to buy a football ticket would solve a lot of problems. We have a lot of great t shirt fans. We also have a bunch of shitty ones.

I don't doubt any of what you said.

It's funny the shite that happens when you gather together a small city in one place with a divided viewpoint and loyalties... I saw nothing like what you describe, our section was well behaved and I was drunk with no real repercussions... got to our car fine and nobody died...it's not like a Giants Dodgers game or heaven forbid a Glasgow Rangers/Glasgow Celtic match where people get dead.

That is disappointing but not surprising. When I get back at my home computer long enough I am going to post a picture from after the game of the garbage strewn all over Lot 11. Thought I was looking at the Frat boy party aftermath on the Parade Grounds. I do somewhat blame the Cowboys organization for not realizing how much we drink and being unprepared for the number of bottles and cans, but both our tailgates brought extra black garbage bags and managed their own trash-it's unclear why others can't.

until I moved out of state and started attending away games, I honestly had no idea how hated our fans are around the country...once I started going to away games and see how most fans behave, I understand why we have the reputation we do....

That really surprises me. I've been defending our fans behavior all afternoon, call Duck fans liars, etc. I was at the stadium, too, and never saw one incident of bad behavior on either side. I've been a season ticket holder for 18 years and, gota say, I've never seen these so-called wild-eyed LSU fans everybody talks about. Maybe it happens on another part of the campus because it surely doesn't happen between TD Village 2 and the stadium. Go figure...

If there is such a thing as a fanbase that is capable of being both the very best & the very worst simultaneously- it is ours.
