Andre Drummond to UConn (CBB)

Number 2 player in 2012 class will reclassify to 2011 and will join the team. Not sure how they worked this out academically and UConn doesn't have a scholarship for him right now, but I'm sure someone will 'voluntarily' transfer in the next few weeks.
Drummond has been compared to Amare and now UConn joins UNC and UK as NC favorites. Napier, Lamb, Roscoe Smith, Drummond, and Oriakhi is a stacked lineup.

Wow, so they actually got it to work. I know earlier they tried to and couldn't get it done. If you watch any footage of Drummond, the Amare comparison is spot on. He plays exactly like a younger Amare
Better enjoy him for this coming year because that's all Uconn is going to get from him.

I'm surprised as well, most 'experts' said it wasn't possible and he was staying 2012. UConn just doesn't seem to care about the academic/legal side of things when it comes to their basketball program. I guess Calhoun is going all out to get title number four before he retires.

Well I'm pretty sure the legal side had to clear this before it happened.
Uconn fans should be happy this worked because I feel as if he would have either gone pro or gone somewhere else. I think a school like Kentucky could have come in and nabbed him with more time

When I said legal, I was referring to things like the Marcus Williams situation a few years back.
I always thought Drummond would end up in prep school this year and enter next year's draft. He kept his recruitment quiet but I think everyone expected him at UConn if he went to school.

So, no jump shot or post up game.
Just lives for Dunks and Put backs, lazy Defender and for his size not really that great of a Rebounder?
(and in the Future will have Knee Problems????)
I kid I kid. excellent signing, that team is gonna be Nasty, again.

Drummond is a beast. He actually does have a pretty decent jumper. I think he's the best player in the class

Drummond is an obvious one and done. The knock on him is that he's lazy and he's dominating based on sheer talent.
He will obviously be a good additional to UConn but I doubt he makes any kind of huge impact.

why do you think this?

Definitely better than Anthony Davis IMO. I think he and Shabazz Muhammed are both better than anyone in the 11 class. Julius Randle and Jabari Parker might even have a case too.

This upcoming NBA draft is going to be one of the best in a LONG time

Ya and Duncan put up 30-15 a game in that series too.
Amare was way too athletic for Duncan, (and now) it's a better post up game, but when he came into the league it wasn't that great. (But his athletic ability was just ridiculous)
and Anthony Davis is soft. Tony Gil (one of our signees) outplayed last year in an AAU tourney. Davis has like 5 inches on him.

His highlight tapes are 90% dunking on people less physically gifted than him, no signs of a consistent jump or hook shot or post game.
Reminds me of BJ Mullens' highlights.
He'll be decent but I don't see him being great from jump like other freshman before him.
