Nothing A&M does is going to change the fact that the state of Texas is dominated by the Longhorns.

Not immediately. This appears to be a recent occurrence,I believe stemming from new people moving into the state and others jumping onto the bandwagon starting in the early 2000 timeframe.

another MASSIVE assumption is that the $20 million to pay us that was promised by the Big XII actually materialized in the first place...

We're still working off of Beebe bucks at this point.

And if you think this is all just a in internet message board ego trip move, well you're just wrong...our administrators are making this decision based on what is best for A&M now, and in the future.

The Big XII is dead and the SEC is a far more stable and lucrative conference now, and in the years to come.

(fanspeek coming)
We have a much better chance to be competitive when the conference doesn't stack the odds against us to begin with.

Losing A&m, Nebraska & Colorado doesn't mean much to the Big 12. None has won a conference title in a long, long time

There have been 15 Big 12 championships

OU: 7-1
Texas:3-2
NU: 2-4
CU:1-3
A&M:1-1

So 25/30 appearances from 5 schools and it's no big deal to lose 3 of them?

It's bigger than just $$$$. Giving up a little cash for some stability could be worth it in the long run. In a year or two OU could be in A&M's shoes and bolt. Then A&M might be screwed if they chose not to move to the SEC when they had a shot.

Winning national titles and consistently going to BCS games is not an option for A&M.

Was winning National Titles not an option for Florida until 96?

Was Auburn incapable of winning a national title after 57 when they were a radically different school?

As much talent as there is in the state of Texas, the fact since 1975 the Lone Star State has claimed ONE national title(tu also has a losing record to A&M since then), while the state of Florida has 10, shows you just how much a fricking idiot you are. And you know how shitty your receiving corps was last year? Maybe when the state of Texas consolidates its major powers and the Baylors of the world disappear, Robert Griffin would have played receiver like Mack offered, and you wouldn't have had the most over hyped and under performing season in the history of college football.

I think it will be the cheating. Aggie will be screaming at the tops of their lungs about this in the coming years and it will drive the other SEC members crazy.

How would that be ANY different for the SEC than what it is now?

You know, I wasn't buying the "Texas-is-a-bastard" stuff the Pigs and the Aggies were laying down for years, but I think that might have changed.

Arky left cause they hate you.
Nebraska left cause they hate you.
Colorado left in part because they hate you.
Texas A&M is leaving cause they hate you.

Its seems pretty clear to me that Texas just doesn't play well with others.

Dr. Drunk I am sure the season ticket holders are glad that Deloss finaly got rid of Nebraska and A&M. Seeing as those worthless games are gone you can start to get excited about the 2012 Longhorn Home Schedule:

New Mexico
Wyoming
Iowa State
Baylor
Mizzou

Enjoy

A&M was not set to make $20M until 2012 (which, which completely dismisses the argument about money).

A&M is leaving because they feel the SEC provides a more stable home for us which will increase our visibility and assets. That is straight from the mouth of our very own president.

Its really as simple as that and people can misconstrue the argument all they want.
We are going to a conference that is more stable (premiere football conference), more visibility (television appearances compared between the big12 and SEC are a JOKE), and more cash flow. Anyone who doesnt think the TV contract will not be renegotiated has their head firmly in their arse.

It blows my mind that people think this wouldn't happen, especially in light of the deal the Pac 12 got.

But yet, Texas doesn't see that they are the problem. They talk high and mighty about their sports prowess but how many national championships in football in the past 40 years?
