Question for This Forum

I often see discussion on the O-T of cigars, and I normally participate in those, as I enjoy cigars a great deal. I also edit an online cigars and lifestyles magazine.
Those of us who enjoy cigars tend to think of them as a component of "the good life" however you describe that. And, often enough, people like me tend to discuss cigars in similar terms to good food and good libations, and consider cigars an extension of this line of discussion and pursuit of fine things in life.
So, my question.....is it acceptable to discuss the enjoyment of cigars in this forum, or must it stay in the O-T?
Thank you.

If you eat your cigar or put it in a glass and drink its water then I say its fine on the Food and Drink board.

There needs to be a vice board: can cover 90% of the topics on the OT anyway.

Smoking causes cancer.
Not quite the responses you were looking for?
My question is if it's discussed on the OT why worry about it here? I mean most of us look at both. Wouldn't bother me I just don't understand the redundancy.

Interesting. Many who enjoy the cigar, also enjoy a finely crafted libation to accompany it, and love to discuss the two together. As for me, a tee-totaller until a few years ago, I think a sweet, ruby Port tends to ameliorate any harshness from the cigar, and the cigar, tends to tone down the fortified wine.
Cream Sherry is also something I'm really starting to pair up with my cigar, too. But I've only tried one cream sherry, and that from Stonehill Vineyards from the old German enclaves in the hills west of St. Louis Missouri.

The discussion here is sometimes a bit more reasonable, and again, I draw the parallels between food, drink, and cigars. Sometimes the OT doesn't, and it's so much more difficult to follow on the OT when that board is busy.
Asking, too, because I didn't want to start bringing it up in other discussions on here and get my arse handed to me for the infraction.

Id take a discussion about cigars over another chain special/fast food oriented 12 pager.
Although every time I smoke a cigar, I realize halfway through it was a huge mistake.

Well I don't smoke anymore but I have been to several good vineyards in Augusta west of St Louis and I believe a few good underrated wines come from that region. Pretty area.

I only smoke them halfway down, and its not the same as getting a shorter one b/c it becomes alot harsher.
I'd vote to include cigars on F&DB. Typically I only smoke them after a meal or while drinking a nice scotch anyway.

The place I visited in their store in Branson, however they showed a film on the history of the vineyard, which they claim is the oldest in that area west of St. Louis. It died out in the 1930s, and the current proprietors revived it a few years ago. The area does look beautiful, and many German vintners settled there because the geographic conditions and soils resembled the Rheinland.
Anyway, thanks for the parley and the thoughtful responses.

I've never smoked a cigar or a cigarette. But when I was 7 I had a cap gun and smoked the end of it after firing a shot.

If you use the word libation again something bad is going to happen to you.
Also, I thought libation meant a drink offering... as in pouring it out for homies, or God.

I enjoy a finely cultivated bud. Can we talk about that on this board?

Aw come on man. Got tired of the "pix or GTFO" responses?!?
I likewise would like to see a few cigar threads on the F&D board. I enjoy a stogie about once a week. Not very knowledgable on them, but I like the Rocky Patel
brand.
