There is this thing called Mental Stress and I am sure that all the hours he would have to put in would not take a toll on him physically!! For real, there is this thing called reallity!!!!!
I have a friend who has parkinsons, and it's pretty awful watching him degrade physically. He still works, but less than he used to. There are degrees of the illness and some people degrade more quickly than others. Don't know his situation but if he just found out about it, I am pretty sure he needs to step away from heavy responsibility.
For no other reason than it's a hell of a shock to find out you have it and are facing the unknown. I doubt he wants to deal with a lot of responsibility right now.

And, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Kragthorpe for stepping aside. I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision.

quote:This is the sad reality of Parkinson's. It's awful and each person experiences the disease at its own pace. There are some who can coast with it a while, but many others who understandably can't. It is not a "one size fits all" condition. Prayers for the coach and his family. And for coach Stud and his new role.
