Wasn't it all just a bad dream by Al?

Lisa, zack, Screech and Belding all decided it was best to move to Southern Cal at the same time. Why does that need explaining?
And go to the same college with apparently the same majors, etc. I am thinking they were part of some weird comet cult.

Donna's younger sister on That 70's Show.

That 70's Show - Donna had a sister that only showed up in one episode. Where was she the rest of the time? They also had a dog named Shotsy on the show that wasn't on the show for a while and iirc they made a joke about it when he made an appearance in later episodes.

Cyclops didn't really just disappear, they showed what happened to him.

No they mentioned seven off handedly later in the show. It was supposedly all a dream by the dog.

Did the thread change to "Characters that left tv shows with an in show explanation of why they left and where they went?"
Otherwise your post doesn't make sense.

in Boy meets world, Shawn has an older sister Stacy but then is never mentioned again.
Same show, the younger sister Morgan goes away for a season then is replaced by an older girl and is joked about being grounded for awhile.
Law and Order: SVU, Munch had a different partner and then Ice T just shows up.

Richie Cunninghams brother on Happy Days.
Absolutely rude of Howard and Marion to trash son Chuck, his college hoops teammates, and Fonzie's poplin jacket from season 1 to 2.

What happened to the older brother? Did he do something wrong?

Another famous example of Chuck Cunningham Syndrome:
Remember her?
Of course you don't! That's Sara Spooner, Carrie's little sister on King of Queens. She appeared in the first five episodes of season one of King of Queens, only to be completely forgotten as the show progressed.
In the pilot, she actually moved into Doug and Carrie's house with Arthur!
But after episode 6, subsequent scripts referred to Carrie as an only child. It was as though she never existed.
The producers discovered they weren't creating any storylines for Sara, so they dropped her as an unnecessary character. The show never missed her.

-Remember her?
I remember her character from when King of Queens first started. I mentioned this a while back to my wife but she didn't believe me.

I saw that episode recently, and I thought, who the hell is this fine chick and what happended to her?
In the episode where she moved in with Doug and Carrie, a "conflict" arose when she kept using the bathroom when Doug needed to get ready for work. At one point, Doug was in the bathroom shaving, and she came in wearing only a towel, and stepped in to take a shower WHILE DOUG WAS STILL SHAVING. I thought that the plot line was about to go NC-17 and would soon include a threesome, but they never brought up the sexual tension angle, just the "how inconsiderate" angle. Weird. I was getting a chubby in anticipation.
