Friday Night Lights had a guy named Santiago that joined the football team after getting out of reform school. He tore it up on the field for a few episodes and disappeared like he was never on the team from what I remember.

They never explained that did they? Man I missed that entirely.

Nope, the writers even admitted as much.

How about:

Jessie's step brother Eric Tramer? He was on for a solid two episodes and even caught the eye of Lisa (who asked him to stay). He decided to stay, and was never heard from again.

Slater's old girlfriend, Jen (it's Jennifer now)? She came back into Albie's life right as he started getting with Jessie. Zack took her on a date, then Slater, then she got back with Zack....and was never heard from again.

Nurse Jennifer who replaced nurse "Blind as a Bat" Butcher (who gave a flu shot to the flag pole)? She unintentionally wooed Zack away from Kelly, and Kelly to Melvin Nerdley. She then tried to "seduce" to Zack back to Kelly, which worked, then.........she was never heard from again.

Mayhem left SVU during an episode where the department brought in a specialist to do an evaluation on the mental health of the detectives. A couple of them didn't make the cut, including Mayhem.

On The Big Valley, the Barkleys had three sons, a daughter, and then Heath (half brother) showed up. After the first half a season, the youngest brother appeared less and less. The next year they referred to him being at college. The following year the mom would refer to them only having four kids.

He was on in season 3. He played for the Panthers. He just seemed to disappear at the end of that season and then the show shifted focus to East Dillon in season 4.

Wasn't this on the season that was kind of stopped abruptly because of the writers strike?
