Chicken: How About a Preseason Bowl Pickem Contest? Details:

I suggest we create a preseason pool to predict who will play in the 35 bowl games at the end of the 2011 season.

Don't laugh; it gives us something to think about until late August besides golf and pro baseball.

Approach: Pick teams for all 35 bowl games. Pick the predicted winner for each game.


Scoring:

If you pick a team to play in ANY bowl and they play in ANY bowl: 3 points

If you pick a team to play in a bowl game, and they play in the one predicted: 5 points

If you pick a team to play in a BCS game, and they play in ANY BCS game: 15 points

If you pick a team to play in a BCS game, and they play in THAT game: 20 points

If you pick one of the BCSCG teams: 30 points

If you pick both of the BCSCG teams: 50 points

If you pick a winner in ANY game: 30

If you pick a winner in a BCS game: 50 points

If you pick the BCSCG game winner: 100 points

Tie breaker: total points in BCSCG
