tramonte's lunches are not that good IMO.

The Hamburger Steak is easily the best in town. I have never ordered any other lunch there........

Masons for me is the Club Sammich and its a good Club Sammich.........

What have you gotten there that you didn't like?

Just recently at City Cafe, I've gotten the crawfish etouffee, shrimp grits & some boiled crawfish. The boiled crawfish were delicious. You could taste the flour in the etouffee, nasty. The shrimp grits were absolutely tasteless....I'll have to give that chicken dish you recommended a shot.

In my opinion the poboys at Dempsey's & filthy arse, un-air conditioned George's are much better than City Cafe's too.

George's is ridiculously hot inside, and smells like stale grease that gets on your clothing, and your clothes reek of that smell after you leave. I like Smokie, but that place is a shite-hole.

I'll give Hi Nabor's plate lunches a try. As for Ralph's, I've always thought they were very nice for the most part, but a tad bit strange & cultish. They may not be human.

What little talk about the "exchequer" place on this board in the past, has been negative....Is the food better than when it was Samuels? I never really liked Samuels food.

1) Chimes East, by far
2) Hunan
3) Jones Creek Cafe (easily the best gumbo in BR)
4) South of Philly
5) Coffe Bean (Lunch only)

Stay away from Walk Ons, Taiko and Londoner.
Ate at Londoner for the 4th or 5th time, I know the owners and want to find something I like. I can't, Steak and Ale and the FF's are the only decent things on the menu...
