Trying to remove the hitch from son's SUV and con not budge the nuts. Have tried WD-40 and others. Anyone know of a mobile service that will come with maybe a impact wrench and remove. Hitch and wiring in good shape and I am going to mount on my SUV. Both are Expeditions, his he just screwded up the engine.

Have you tried soaking the threads in PB blaster?

....or you could slip a pipe (cheater bar) over your wrench for more leverage. Just be careful not to break the wrench and/or injure yourself.

If you are in Baton Rouge,Total Tire Solutions has service trucks with up to 1"impact wrenches on them. They are pretty affordable $40-50.

Dont forget to add a cheater pipe to your wrench but be careful to protect your eyes and hands.

Thanks guys.
Found O'Reilly Auto Parts has PB blaster, will try it with the cheater bar. Got to move spare tire first to have some room.

You can also try tapping on bolt head with hammer while pulling on it with a wrench. Kind of a "poor mans" impact wrench. You don't wont to "wail" on it as you may cause it to swell and you'll never get it off. The PB along with leverage and some tapping should work. Make sure you're using the correct size wrench to avoid slippage, with that comes busted knuckles and sometimes face plants.

After you get it off go buy some new bolts and nuts. Anything torqued that tight, you will not want to reuse.

Tighten it. Sounds crazy but usually works. Hit it with the Kroil and let soak for an hour or so (over night is best). Then get your monkey wrench and a cheater pipe. Go back and forth; tighten, then loosen. You're trying to break the rust ring on the threads, and somtimes its easier done by tightening a little, then loosen. Once you get the nut to move, you got it going in your direction. An old pipefitter showed me that years ago, and I have freed many a rusty nut since then.

ahhh, forgot that. Tightening will help, and like you said, go back and forth until it frees up, will also prevent breaking bolt off.

This.

Also a 1/2" drive electric impact might do the trick, and a 1/2" air impact WILL do it.

If not get a grinder and cut those bolts off.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

When you do, put a couple of drops of oil. My dad would always do that and say, "It will make it SO much easier one day when you come to unscrew it."

He did it for any nuts.

SO long as it's not Stainless Steel, heat can be helpful if all else fails.
