I am taking my wife there in July. Does anyone on here have a nicer place that they can recommend? I know she doesn't like Ryan's.

Hot Springs is not exactly what one would call a culinary mecca, if you know what I mean. Red Lobster is the tits on seafood to the residents, and I am not joking.

The Cajun Boiler, about 6 miles south of town, was owned and run by an Abbyville native, about 12 yaers ago when I was there. The food was very good. If he still has it, I'd go there(not upscale).

I have been there, they have Abita so I was sold.

I guess I could try the Arlington or another hotel that has a resturant.

the owner of this place is originally from cuba. its not mexican. really really good nuevo latina cuisine. i wouldnt say it is 100% cuban but definitely heavily influenced.

I lived there for one year about ten years ago and I concur with Cajun Boilers and McClard's...other than that they have La Hacienda for Mexican and it is very good. Most of the waiters/waitresses can hardly speak English, so that shows that it is truly authentic....as far as restaurants, that is about it...

Never did make it to Rolando's but heard good things. Central Park Fusion has great food (especially for Hot Springs) but kind of a quirky atmosphere (tries to be upscale but space doesn't really work for it) It is near the Arlington.

That place was pretty good when I went back in 2007. The downtown area had a few other places. While you are there try the strip karaoke place- always good for a laugh and BYOB
