He said all around...not better in the field than Hernandez...as a slugger, sure, but not with the glove. Then there is Lou and Jimmie Foxx and Eddie Murray.

When someone says arguably the best, IMO that narrows the conversation to two or three. He's not in that number. Again, he was good, but I don't think he's in the same breath as best all time.

Just my opinion...take it for what it's worth.

This is perklixing(sp)drunk. Larry Dieker(sp), the first baseman, la grange orange or something like that. Joe frickin Morgan. Ceasar Cedeno, Jim Wynn(toy cannon). There was a third baseman they called the roster. But have to go with Biggio and Bagwell, only because they were tenured.

Biggio is the gratest astro. His prime was better than anyone elses prime in terms of peak and longevity of his prime.

His overall longevity is also hands down the best and he will be a first ballot hall of famer.

My personal favorite astro of all time is Billy Doran followed closely by berkman

I have to disagree, Bagwell has an MVP- that's as good as it gets. Biggio had a longer career and is no doubt a first ballot hall of famer but his peak wasnt close to Bagwells.

Bagwell's their greatest player by a mile. His counting numbers don't do justice to what a great player he was. He's arguably the greatest all-around 1st baseman to ever play the game.

Craig Biggio had a .281 batting average with 291 Home Runs and 1175 RBI over a 20 year career, with a .363 OBP.

Jeff Bagwell had a .297 batting average with 449 Home Runs and 1529 RBI over a 15 year career, with a .408 OBP.

Comparing these two is laughable. Biggio is one of the most overrated players of the modern era.

How much of this was done during baseball's prime doping era? No offense, but I always thought Bagwell looked like one roided up dude.
