La Tech played Grambling for the first time in HISTORY last year. they had a really good turnout for it too at the Indy Bowl stadium. amazing considering the two schools are a few miles apart.

i really can't see LSU playing SU anytime soon though.

We aren't obligated to play Southern, Southeastern,Tulane, Tech, Mcneese St, Northwestern St., ULL, ULM etc...Although they feel otherwise.. It is ridiculous and a waste of a game

We aren't obligated...yet. SHHHHH.

it would be more entertaining to me than most any other 1-aa school we could or would play.

As I recall, the Cajuns playeds SU a couple years ago and beat them by like 4 TDs.

I'm not really sure how entertaining SU vs. LSU would be for either side.

I'm all for keeping the money in state, but there is simply too much of a gap between the teams.

Maybe in the mid 1990s when that had good top tier 1-AA teams but not now it would be ugly

Well the obvious team to play would be UL-L... they are going to take the Flagship away from LSU pretty soon and be juggernauts of Louisiana athletics

I've never had turkey necks and kool-aid while tailgating.

I'm all for it.

In all seriousnessity, anytime LSU chooses to rent a win, they should do it with the fans' experience in mind. That alone makes SU a good grab because of the halftime show and the assumed weekend-long festival that could coincide with the game.

Why McNeese and not Southern?

The primary reason for it is b/c it's an HBCU.

Over the years LSU has played teams that suck just as bad as SU. I don't see any other reason why they haven't played them yet other than what I previously specified.

Back in the '60's or early '70's this would have been a rather competitive game.

Kind of fun to do what? To beat SU by 60+? To set back race relations in Baton Rouge to 1960 standards? Explain...

Condon has been advocating this for years, so it must be a good idea.

Southern lost to a middle of the pack Division 2 school last season. For the love of God I hope this doesn't ever happen.

Is Southern any worse than NW State?

Well just think about how bad you would suck if all the black athletes still went to black schools!! and werent getting bought by big schools with bigger check books.!!!So whenever you start feeling like you are on the superior level think about what the score would have been if LSU played S.U back in the 60s and 70s maybe the same as now but reverse the teams.
