I for one would love for USC to come into Baton Rouge on a hot September night. That would be the bollocks.

what is wrong with pulling for a conference? i certaintly did not want auburn to win the national championship but any other sec team i would pull for. i think the other conference fans are just jealous they dont have that conference allegance like we do. Its a great thing. i understand, though, why outsiders dont understand.

make sure to schedule Kentucky next, and really show the SEC whats up

You obviously haven't looked at who Ohio State has scheduled OOC in the last and upcoming decade and who the typical SEC team has scheduled OOC in the same time period. It isn't close.

Sure, done it before. Playing in Miami this September. It can be hot and humid there as well.

Nothing at all, really. I pull for most PAC 10 teams out of conference, but I will admit pulling for Auburn over Oregon in the BCSCG. It just depends on the occasion and the opponent. I am sure you would forgive me though, if I wished ill upon every alternative lifestyle looking powder blue wearing bRuin in any athletic endeavor.

You're not really calling Arizona and UNC top teams now, are you? Really? Arizona is 6-9-1 in bowl games all-time with zero national championships. Their last bowl win that was bigger than the Holiday Bowl was 1993. They've never been to a BCS bowl. Please.

UNC has been to two Sugar Bowls. 1946 and 1948. Their biggest bowl win is the last decade in the Peach Bowl in 2001. Again, zero national championships.

Don't even try to prop those teams up as "top" teams when you're comparing them against a team that has scheduled and played Texas, Miami and USC with Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and Georgia coming up.

the arizona series with lsu was scheduled in 1998 when arizona was coming off a 12-1 season

UNC was viewed as a quality last second get because Butch Davis was being touted as building a powerhouse program in the ACC - which he might have been doing if their recruiting issues were not uncovered

Certainly they are not elite programs but they were considered very dangerous teams when LSU scheduled them

Agreed. Just felt like busting his balls. The way he worded it is like they are perennial powerhouses.

Just not my cup of tea.

Trust me, I'm not jealous at all, and neither are the millions of other people that share the same opinion as I do. That's why I'm suprised to hear SEC fans say there are "hated rivalries" in the conference. How can that be, when every school pulls for every other school? There's no hate. There's just hanging on coattails, so that when a persons favorite team loses, they can lay claim to fame when another school from the conference succeeds.

how so? When we put them on our schedule, they were ranked very high. I'm sorry you suck at reading

now add Alabama, UGA (usually), Auburn, Florida, LSU, Arkansas, and even Mississippi State to that schedule and compare them

A little of both. SC lost to Oregon 2 years running, and the 2 times we played AU we beat them, so there wasn't any lingering animosity on our end. I go to a couple of AU games a year (not all that far away) and I am always treated very well there. Also, some Oregon fans down here (yeah, even here we have them) were getting damned near impossible to live with. So it didn't break my heart that they came up just a lil' short of one last defensive stop in that BCSCG.

The discussion is about OOC schedules. Try to follow.

UNC has never been a "top" team. Using them as an example is ludicrous. Arizona had a couple of nice years in their entire history. They have two 10 win seasons in school history. End of debate.

I don't get why we need to fight about this all the time. It's the same arguments every time

Yeah, you're right. I attribute it to the off season. We're all so starved for college football that we'll debate the same thing until we're blue in the face.

they were favored to beat us and were considered a top 10 team by some last year before the suspensions. They were one of the more talented teams in the country. Not our fault they can't follow the rules (like OSU)

and we scheduled them coming of a 12 win season when they were in the top 10

We were not a 12 win team at the time.

I'm following just fine, but the OOC schedule is suppose to compliment the conference schedule. There is a reason that OSU consistently wins their conference

SEC: Yeah, well we did it better!
tOSU: Why don't you get off my nuts.
SEC: As long as you know our nuts are bigger!
