Men's and Women's college teams.. travel

Why dont they travel together.

why dont softball and baseball host and travel together? wouldnt that save money?

same for basketball?

I don't see how. Whatever it costs for the baseball and softball teams to travel to a particular city shouldn't be any less if they do it at the same time. Everybody still needs a place to stay, eat, and a way to get there.

well, if they are chartering flights or buses, then they probably could get better pricing.. same for hotels..

and basketball, its got to be cheaper to play men and women back to back, than to open up the arenas on separate nights..

Small colleges (D2, D3, NAIA) around the country do it all the time in same sports like basketball, soccer, etc. I know the Southland used to do it that way, too. Not sure if they do anymore.

It's one way to get people to come to women's basketball games, but it only makes sense on the weekends. Unless one team starts playing at 4pm, there won't be enough time to play both games on a weeknight.

All mens games are ticketed and some schools ticket womens games so you would have to clear the arena, which means more time.

Most of the staff for staffing the arena is on salary, so you wouldn't be saving any money there either.

Thru the early 90s womens bball was played before the mens game
